Midwife couldn’t find heart beat!

Hey,I had my 16 week check today and the midwife tried to find baby’s heart beat. She tried for about 5 mins and she couldn’t find it but just said it’s probably too small and didn’t say anything else about it. She also asked if I had felt movements which I said no to, and again she didn’t say anything after. I was hoping to feel reassured by hearing the heartbeat but it’s left me in a panic. It’s not my first pregnancy and in all of my others I heard the heart beat at 16 weeks! Has anyone else had this?

Just an update! I had the scan today everything is fine I could see the little heart beating away, the lady doing the scan said baby is tucked in a really awkward position very low down and back by my spine so that’s why she wouldn’t of been able to hear it! Thank you for the support everyone xx

Dd was the same. Quite a few times the midwife couldn't hear her. She was that far back I didnt feel her move until 6 months.

I had this at 16w too, it’s so scary, but a scam showed everything was fine. I was quite angry after when I read that many trusts don’t listen at 16w to avoid unnecessary worry.
