FTM - advice, cooks balloon, labour, anything really 😂

Pregnant FTM (31yo) and currently 40+4 weeks, however feels like 40+40262947392 😑.
Had a sweep yesterday, nothing really came of it, mild cramps on and off, baby having a good wriggle around and maybe lost a bit of the plug, had some bloody mucus anyway. Today started off quiet, but again just quite active baby and had some more bloody mucus. Nothing that felt a lot or like note worthy.

Due to have cooks balloon inserted on Sunday night at 6:30pm, be sent home and then to go back in Monday morning at 9am.

Could the sweep still come into fruition before then?
Would really rather avoid induction I think?

Anyone had the cooks balloon?
I can't seem to find much peoples experience with it, most people have had the pessary and/or the drip, so don't really know what to expect.

Guess im just looking for any kind of reassurance, guidance, good stories anything. I don't have my mum to ask and no one else really.

Been quite positive about labour and birth, but now starting to worry a little, reading stuff on the Internet isn't helping lol. I'm quite a laid back person, i am a firm believer in "the baby will come when they're ready" and despite the endless information on the Internet nowadays that's borderline scaremongering, I'm quite happy to trust my midwife and the doctors to get my baby out as safely as possible for us both. But starting to feel the stress and worry of an impending c-section if I go too long or late, or whatever.

Nobody will be able to tell you when it's likely to happen, there are so many variables. But one thing that will slow down what could be happening is stress. It's so hard to relax whilst you are getting further and further past your due date, but your body needs oxytocin to go into labour, it won't happen without it! Try your hardest to really look after yourself these next few days, enjoy your last few days of true freedom before life changes forever. The minute they are born every day whizzes by so quickly you don't have time to take it all in. This will all seem like a distant memory very soon!

I had a sweep, balloon and then the pessary, I think they even gave me the drip once labour had started.

The balloon hurt going in, but otherwise then couldn't feel it.

Do you have a birthing ball? My recommendation would be to put something funny on the TV and bounce for as long as you can handle.

The pessary didn't originally work for me, I had it at 11am, whilst I was having contractions I wasn't dilating at all, they said they needed me to stop contracting to do another pessary, so I was going to have to wait till 11am the following day. So I got the birthing ball and bounced for 2 hours watching something that made me laugh out loud and my waters broke and labour started that night
