First time feeling baby move

Hi just wondering when people felt first kicks etc. I'm currently 17 weeks with my 3rd baby but had 3 miscarriages before this baby. I thought I could feel like bubbles the other week but I don't think Iv felt anything since. Is it still too early? Just a bit anxious and scared something is wrong x

When I went for my 20 week scan, they asked if I could feel the baby move. I said no. Then they saw the baby moving on the monitor and asked if I could feel it, I could ever so slightly. It was like a butterfly in my stomach, tiny tiny flutters, but I was concentrating. There’s no way I would have really noticed it before they pointed it out that it was the baby moving.

first one didn't even feel the "flutters" til 23 weeks and then started feeling kicks like a week later, barely felt anything through most of the pregnancy due to the anterior placenta. it was annoying. 20 weeks with this one and felt flutters inconsistently from 14 weeks (not every day just every so often) and just starting to get some light kicks now!

it really depends on the individual, the baby's position, the placenta location etc.

I think anything up to about 24-25 weeks is normal. they expect something consistent from about 26 weeks

@Moveoverdarlin thank you for replying. That's so crazy isn't it. I love how they did that for you. I do feel like Iv had the odd flutter but now I'm second guessing myself cuz of anxiety x

I felt mine around 17 week s and it was exactly as you described, like bubbles in belly

My2boysaremyworld · 26/03/2024 14:41

@Devilsmommy how often did you feel it? Did you have days when you didn't notice it? X

Yes it wasn't constant at first, as a pp said around 21/22 weeks it was more definitely. 17 weeks is still early yet so try not to get too anxious about it, easier said than done I know 😊

I am 27 weeks and feeling movement but it's not consistent some days there's loads of activity and others hardly anything. Apparently that's normal.
Felt first flutter at about 19 weeks but very subtle, first proper movement was about 23 weeks. I had 3 x 20 week scans and saw baby wriggling and kicking but couldn't feel a thing. Anterior placenta so that may make a difference.

@My2boysaremyworld
I could of wrote this. I'm 16 weeks, 3rd baby plus 4 miscarriages and not feeling anything. I know my placenta is low at back so not the reason. I can't wait for 20week scan tbh.
I know I felt my second at around this time so was really expecting earlier this time. Xx

@MrsM89 maybe we can keep each other company on this rollercoaster of an anxious pregnancy? Xx
