In very early stages of pregnancy.

Don’t think I will continue it but as part of the process I’m trying to see what the next year will look like.

Just to make it completely clear- I’m not going to have an abortion to go on holiday before any one @‘s me about this 🙄

me and DH have booked to go on holiday when I will now be at least 28 weeks pregnant. We have travel insurance.

If I am pregnant- I don’t want to go. It’s watersports based (mine and DH’s hobby) and will restrict my activities hugely.

Other reasons:

it’s also a splurge holiday as a belated honeymoon that we never got to have, so it is an absolute waste for me to go and curl up with a book for the trip when I can do that somewhere cheaper or closer to home.

In a previous pregnancy had morning sickness up until I gave birth, so I wouldn’t want to swap it for a non active holiday at all- to just be sick in a different location.

the hospital nearby is unlikely have to facilities to support a baby born at 28 weeks, which would make me anxious if anything happened.

However- i know you can travel until 32 weeks and pregnancy might not be a reason in itself.

Is it likely for my insurance to cover us not going? Or at least give the provider (EasyJet holidays) cause to delay the trip or give us a voucher to rebook?

No, unless you have been medically advised not to travel your travel insurance will not cover it. We had a similar situation as we already had a holiday booked when I fell pregnant, due in a few weeks now, they will only cover you if you medically cannot travel. With a healthy pregnancy as long as under 32 weeks you would just have to cancel x

In your shoes I wouldnt go. I went to Spain at 24 weeks pg, I was generally well and my bump was quite small and manageable but even then I was uncomfortable at times and was worried about food etc. I also speak excellent Spanish so wasnt concerned about being able to access medical care if needed.
No way would I have flown for longer than 3 hours or done anything too active though. I am sure some people will have tales of flying 18 hours at 30 weeks pg and it all being ok though
Unfortunately as you CAN travel up to 32 weeks with medical exemption I believe I dont think your travel insurance would pay out

I might call easyJet if I continue with the pregnancy. It’s so far out that they might delay it with an expensive admin fee

You can definitely ask the travel company if there's anything they can do in terms of delaying the holiday, or maybe changing it to something more suitable (as you won't be able to do the activities you originally planned for this trip) - but there's pretty much no chance your insurance will pay out just because you've decided not to go. I renewed my annual travel insurance just after finding out I was pregnant and read all of the parts about pregnancy cover back to front - my policy covers cancellation of a trip due to complications of pregnancy, but pregnancy in and of itself isn't considered a reason to cancel a trip. I think that's pretty standard.

I'd say as a rule, you wouldn't be able to claim unless you can't travel on medical advice. Have you booked directly with Easyjet? they might let you postpone the trip.
