Tena pants for after birth

Hi all

Wondering if anyone has used the Tena or always pants for after birth and if so, how did you find the sizing? I have to stay in hospital for a day minimum after so looking to make life easy.

I ordered the Always ones in a medium (1-16, I’m a 14 normally), but they were tiny when I tried them on. Also, very strong smell I’m not a fan of…

So now I’ve ordered the Tena in large (16-22) but these feel collosal on, the gusset is so wide & it ends up all bunched up at front and back and gives a ridiculous ginormous camel toe effect … feels so weird on and very obvious 😩 should I go for the medium do you think?

At a bit of a loss on what to do as have probably spent 20 quid now and all feel useless….

thanks x

I had the tena ones and found them fine in the nude colour but I didn't get on with the black colour found the sizing bit weird on those. They were definitely a life saver postpartum for me I used them for around 3 weeks I also found some in home bargains for £4.99 and they were good too tbf

I personally cannot stand the smell of tena or similar stuff designed for incontinence and didn't like the idea of anything scented down there when I'm recovering! I did buy a couple of packs but never used more than one. Instead i found the disposable frida mom pants with large pads (i liked the Abena ones you can get from amazon or holland&barrett) the most comfortable option in the initial two days or so and then just some big cotton briefs and the abena pads.

If you have sensitive skin at all, I think the incontinence stuff can feel quote irritating.

That’s so weird that colour would make a difference! Maybe I have to suck it up and get some medium ones and see if they fit then :/ were they the Tena ones in home bargains? X

I know what you mean - I tried the Always pads for a bit but they were gross. Should have realised the pants would smell the same 😩 Tena doesn’t seem anywhere near as bad.

I did giant knickers and Natracare pads last time which worked well, it’s just being in hospital is different so makes me want to make life easier - just want to be able to chuck something (and not see all the blood - black was part of the appeal!) . I will have a look at the frida ones thank you x

The always pants really come up small. I usually wear a 10-12 and I wore a large immediately after birth. Agree about the smell, a bit weird but I guess it's ment to cover urine smell. They were however really really good. So much easier than giant pads

The home bargains one weren't always or tena I'm not sure on brand I also think they were unisex too. I had a c section and were fine around that area also I found the maternity pads to thick and bulky and they never seemed to actually stick and stay in place for me x
