Wondering what fabric conditioner or washing powder you use for newborns?
It says online don't use anything just hot water but I can't see how that would get stains off. Is the comfort fabric conditioner with the baby on front suitable?

No not really. What do you mean by crackly?

Like if you stretched them you would hear a crackly type noise and the fibres sound like they’re breaking, rather than it being soft and supple.

I use

-Ecover non bio liquid and fabric softener

  • splosh stain remover if needed
  • fairy in wash scent boosters

Family of 4 including toddler with eczema

Ecover non bio liquid. No smell. I find other people's laundry absolutely ponks

The sun is the best thing for stains. Wash baby's clothes as normal and then hang in a window or outside for as long as possible. Works brilliantly for poo stains and still do it now for toddler food stains!

I think IME I find this is more to do with hanging to dry, when I tumble dry things they seem to come out much softer and more flexible, whereas air drying makes things sort of crispy.

I do tend to avoid hard to wash fabrics though so if we are talking wool or other natural fibres, then we might be getting our wires crossed!

Scrub stains out before washing is best way otherwise they get baked in

I have struggled for years to find a stain remover that actually works - tried loads and all a bit rubbish.
Until I found smöl stain remover gel...oh wow! Gamechanger!
I have a husband, two teenager boys, a toddler and a kitten so it's often in use.
Ideal for whitening up grubby white socks etc. You can order a trial online.
I also use smöl dishwasher tabs, bio capsules and fabric conditioner (smells absolutely lush).
All ordered online on an adjustable plan so super convenient also.
Would never use anything else now!
