34 weeks and baby hardly moves, he's never been a kicker

I'm 34 weeks, my first baby was a real kicker and wriggler, I always knew he was okay
This baby hardly moves at all. Every week I think I will start to feel him more because surely he is big now, but I still hardly feel anything

Placenta is at the back so I can't blame it on that

I have told midwives im worried if something was wrong with baby I wouldn't know because I hardly ever feel him move anyway, and there is no pattern

Im also worried that there is something wrong with him because why doesn't he move, I've been monitored quite a lot due to movement worries and also I've had some health issues of my own, and baby's heart rate is always fine

Apart from a very big baby bump, I wouldn't know I was pregnant

I hardly felt my baby move (I did have an anterior placenta though), every time I mentioned it to a midwife they sent me to be monitored. When I was hooked up to the machines they were always surprised that I couldn’t feel the movements that they detected.

My baby was born healthy at 39 weeks.

Both my girls were the same and I had an anterior placenta both times. Ended up being monitored for reduced movements a few times, but all was okay.

I think some babies are just chill! If it's normal for him I wouldn't worry too much. It's more the sudden change that's concerning.

Can you not provoke him with a cold sugary drink and then lying down? Just for little checks here and there. I'm almost 36 weeks and this one has a weird pattern of being SUPER active for one day, then chilling for one or two days, then wriggling about again. She loves to worry me! They're all different just like when they're born. I also have an at home Doppler (tho not advised by midwives 😬) but it just helps me on days when she is chilling again! I had a mmc at 14 weeks last year so it's been an anxious pregnancy!

DD2 was far, far less wiggly than DD1. I was being monitored a lot for other reasons so I knew she was fine.

She’s now nearly one and still far more chill than her sister was at that age. It’s slightly mad to suggest that they have different temperaments from pregnancy, but it is my experience!

My first was like this also! He rarely seemed to kick, however when I went into triage to be monitored for reduced movements he was always fine but I wasnt able to feel a lot of the movements that he was making. Potentially due to anterior placenta. He was born completely healthy and full term though.

Despite also having an anterior placenta during my second pregnancy, I’ve always been able to feel the second one far more frequently.

I find the best position for feeling movements is actually on my back propped up on a few pillows at 45 degrees ish. Sometimes I can see movements that I can’t feel as well, so try pulling your top up.
