Irritable Uterus

Has anyone had this and can give me hope I'm not left with weeks of uncomfortableness!

I'm 35+3 and yesterday I was in hospital for strong braxton hicks that were happening every 5 minutes with period type pains for over about 7 hours straight... Cervix not dialated and preterm labour test negative. Just wondering if I can expect this to continue till my due date or if it's more of a one off?
I am getting strong braxton hicks again today and have been getting them strong and regular for a couple weeks now. But not happening as frequently as yesterday thankfully!

Hey I had an irritable uterus in my first pregnancy in 2021 at 27 weeks plus a positive FFN test (preterm labour test) which resulted in a 2 day hospital stay with lots of steroids etc. to slow down labour. They didn't know then that it was an irritable uterus it was only when nothing was happening that they realised that's what it was and let me go home!

I was told to take it easy after that and not do anything too strenuous so it didn't happen again, I had tightening throughout and I did get quite strong Braxton hicks towards the end though but nothing as regular as those initial ones!

Good luck and I'm sure it was just a one off for you too!

I had an irritable uterus, was admitted to hospital at 31 weeks as the monitor was picking up strong regular contractions when I'd gone in for reduced movements and my cervix was soft, they were uncomfortable, but not really painful, so had steroids, but all calmed down, happened intermittently up until I was induced at 39 weeks

Thank you both soo much! Gives me hope, I've had such a sore stomach since I think as a result of how consistent and how long it went on for, so really glad to hear it might just be a one off! Definitely don't want this happening regularly when I have 4 weeks till due date 🤣

I had irritable uterus. I went in for reduced movements and found out that I was having irregular week contractions. Occasionally, the braxton hicks would ramp up but then pass again. This continued off and on for several weeks and I ended up giving birth at 37 weeks. I was having sweeps then, as I had other risk factors and was pencilled in for induction at 38 weeks. One of the sweeps really ramped up the contractions for anout a day before they tailed off again but my waters were trickling, so ended up with ARM induction. Labour was very rapid.
