Measuring ahead - do I stick with my own dates or go by the hospitals?

I was tracking ovulation closely with OPK and BBT and am 100% on my conception date as we only DTD when I got a positive OPK that month. Also have been trying for a while so definitely was clued up on all of this!

I should have been 12+2 at my dating scan but they measured baby at 13+2 and they were sucking their thumb which I’ve read usually happens after 13 weeks

So Do I continue to go by my own dates when counting how far along I am, or use the hospitals despite knowing I couldn’t have possibly conceived any earlier?

TIA!

In my experience hospitals aren't great with stats.

I had IVF so I knew the date and time of the transfer and that it (she) was a 5 day blastocyst, but they still counted the same way they normally do. With the cardboard circle Grin.

DH did a careful statistical analysis and got the date spot on, as in he called the length of the pregnancy exactly!

I'd keep your own records because this can be serious later if they're pressuring you to have an induction - although in your case you'd be further along not less.

It was only two days difference in my case but after IVF, I know exactly when the embryo had gone in and how old it was so although the hospital had said she was due the 26th, I just kept to the 24th. Didn't matter in the end as she came the 15th 😂

My dates were more accurate than the hospitals

According to my official dates, I managed to conceive my eldest child when DH was in another country.

She was 5 daysate officially... but lined up more with when DH was around!

Aren't they measuring against the 50% percentile line, so baby is measuring (based on a 50% baby) for the size of 13+2.
Hardly any babies are actually born on theit due date anyway, i'd just be pleased that was 1 less week i had to pregnant for 😅

I have exactly the same situation OP, hospital measured me a week ahead. I’m planning to ask MW to note the discrepancy because in my first pregnancy hospital measured me 5 days ahead and there was lots of stress at the end about them pushing for induction as they had me at a full 2 weeks overdue, which I knew wasn’t true. Who knows if it’ll make a difference, but worth a try! I guess I just grow long babies - not surprising as DH and I are tall - and for a long time! FWIW I’m going by my own dates when making decisions, telling people about the pregnancy, though it takes a bit of concentration as I’ll have to give hospital dates for all medical things and at work!

First pregnancy we did ovulation induction and they pushed my dates back by 10days - DD arrived two weeks early, so much more in line with my original dates. This pregnancy was a natural conception but dates have also gone back by 2 weeks. So it will be interesting to see if this baby also arrives more in line with the original dates!

I went by their dates. My dates I was due the 20th Feb. Theirs was the 12th. I gave birth on the 15th!
