Hi all, this is my 2nd pregnancy and my blood results have shown that I have built up E antibodies. my partner was tested and he has tested positive for the E antigen. they are having me in for bloods every few weeks and if the levels rise scans every 2 weeks from 18 weeks on ( currently 12 weeks) does anybody have any experience with this?

Hi,

I had anti c, E and K

They'll alternate blood tests and scans to check the level and baby. I think like you both were every 2 weeks so I was at hospital every week.

Happy to answer anything if I can remember, it was years ago

Thanks for your reply, how was everything with baby? did your levels rise much through the pregnancy?

My E and K didn't change at all and were almost undetectable by the end. The little c was the aggressive one and I still have to carry a card for it in case I ever need blood. That rose quite a bit and was quite alarming. I'm a nervous sort when it comes to pregnancy though.

Had to deliver slightly early by c section, 38 weeks and on a certain day so NHS blood and transplant could be there and big important pediatrician. This was a precaution in case DD needed a transfusion. She didn't but they had both our bloods ready in a fridge.

We were in 2 days for checks so not too bad, on the regular ward, no special care. Had to bring DD back into A and E a few times as her jaundice was bad which is a result of it. But she's fine. Still a tough nut actually!

They think I got it from blood transfusion with kid 1 as I'm RhD+ so it's quite rare.
