Stabbing pain/cramps

AF is now almost 3 weeks late (anything up to a week late is normal for me).

On Saturday I got really bad low abdominal right sided stabbing pain. This moved by Sunday to a dull ache across the whole of the 'uterus' area. This has ached on and off since. Seems to have gone today though.

Did a pg test early Sunday morning, was negative after a couple of minutes but then I fell back to sleep and when I checked an hour later there was a faint line. I've heard of evaporation lines but apparently they are colourless and this was a definitely purple line.

Have already got two children and don't remember these crampy pains when I was pg with them.

Anybody have any thoughts on this please?

You need to go and get these checked out as soon as possible. It could be anything from an ovarian cyst to an ectopic pregnancy. Please make an emergency appointment to go and see your GP.

I had period like cramps for the first few weeks with DD. However if you are concerned go and get it checked out. Take the test with you.

Agree with aveanap. I mean this in the nicest possible way but thats what the doctor is there for. I personally dont think websites such as this should be used for medical advice. Even the most well intentioned reply could be completely wrong. Good luck.

Thanks everyone. I know this really.

Was going to go to docs today but both my little lads are in bed with temps and bad colds and seeing as the pain has now gone I was thinking everything was okay?

Saying that, I had a 10 x 10 cm ovarian cyst removed before (when I was 17 weeks preg, which was so scary) and I was thinking that with an ectopic pg the pain would get worse, not just disappear?

I know I need to go to docs.

Endomorphins can kick in so it feels better. It might not be this but you do really need to get this checked out. It's better to be cautious. Let us know how you are.

Thank you, I will do.
