Severe nausea 8 weeks pregnant

Hi
Hope someone can help or give me some reassurance!
Severe nausea has started about 5 weeks pregnant this time. All day nausea. Relentless. Struggling to eat or drink anything. Problem is I have 3 other children to care for and I'm pretty non functional.

Anyhow I read up that B6 25mg tablets one three times a day can help and in desperation purchased these. This is day 3 of taking and I feel functional again despite some nausea. But I'm worried... has anyone tried this? Is it safe? It seems to be treatment in America. Does anyone know if its safe?

Many thanks

If you contact your doctor they will prescribe anti sickness tablets. I’m sure it won’t do any harm but better to consult a doctor

Thefaceofboe thanks! Unfortunately my GP would only give me 10 cyclizine to use when in dire need and in my last pregnancies I needed them three times a day up until 14 weeks... and they only took the very edge of the nausea and I was still very debilitated! So I'm scraping the barrel for anything that might give me more relief to be able to actually function 🤢

Go and see a different doctor. They should not be rationing pills you really need. The Pregnancy Sickness Support organisation can offer support and information about treatments.

Good luck, this stage is so hard.

Go to a doctor. Insist they take proper care. You are heading towards hyperemesis - Kate Middleton had it. I had it. It's manageable but you need help now.
Can you suck ice shards? You need to keep hydrated. Baby will be fine but it's tough

That dose sounds fine, pregnancy sickness support recommend 20mg 3 times a day of B6 so pretty similar. I think up to 100mg a day is the upper safe limit. You have my sympathy, I'm just coming out the other end of it at 19 weeks and it's been horrific. I really hope yours clears up soon for you and you get some effective treatment from your GP. I found chewing gum helped me a bit (spearmint sugar free). It must be so hard with other children to care for I can't even imagine how I would cope!

There are prescription medication which is a combination of b6 and antihistamine so the dose is fine , but you should t have to self medicate your doctor should be recommending / prescribing for you it's their job and duty of care.

I feel your pain. I'm unsure of how far along I am but got my PPT on Thursday. I've felt a bit yucky all day but it's really vamped up the past few hours. Just scoffed four Yorkshire puds and that made me feel better. And I'm drinking water like it's going out of fashion as anything else just doesn't quench my thirst or tastes good.
