Hey everyone,

currently 9 weeks with my second HG pregnancy. It’s absolute hell and it’s so lonely. Is anyone else around this phase and wants to chat? Feels like I’m alone, but I know I’m not the only one going through this. Due end of September. Don’t know how I will make it through this.

I was in exactly your position a year ago. Sorry not going through it right now but didn’t want to read and run.
I remember so well the feeling of loneliness and isolation as I spent most of my time in bed or the bathroom.
By 20 weeks the sickness really did ease but I know that doesn’t make it any better for you right now.
The medication that worked best for me was Ondansatron.
You will get through this awful time but no one understands how debilitating it is until they’ve been through it.
Sending hugs your way x

Just waned to say I'm sorry you're going through this. I'm just starting to get a little bit better at 19 weeks. Started at 5 weeks. It is truly awful and I dont think anyone can understand it unless youve been through it! Hope you have plenty of support around you. Take care x

I had HG throughout my pregnancy until the day she was born. Lots of hospital admissions and there worst one was such severe dehydration that they were unable to get blood out of my veins. It was only because the Midwife came to check on me randomly that day, that I was taken in as I wasn't actually feeling even remotely dehydrated. Consultant said had I not come in, I'd have been gone by morning. I'm not trying to scare you, just letting you know (in case you don't know already) to keep a really close eye on your Ketones.
Don't assume that because you don't feel dehydrated that you're ok. I ended up ordering Urinalysis strips on Amazon and checking my Ketones 4-6 times per day.

The only medication that helped even slightly was Ondansetron. They gave me loads of different ones to try first - none helped even remotely other than Ondansetron. Problem was, it costs the NHS an absolute mint to prescribe so they told me! So they try everything else first.

Best of luck 🙏
