Subchorionic hematoma

Hi!

I had a big bleed at around 12 weeks due to a 4cm Subchorionic hematoma. Three-four weeks later I'm still spotting (predominantly brown, and when I go to the loo, not free flowing) with occasional 'bits' or 'lumps' too, which I can only assume is scar tissue

What I'm wondering is, how do you stop worrying? I'm not at the point I can feel baby moving so without constant scans how do you know everything is OK? The 12 week scan looked great but every time I see blood I assume the worst couldvw happened since. Did anyone else spot after the initial bleed? Was everything OK?

Yes you can spot for ages. I spotted for several weeks.

To be honest, I don't think you will stop worrying until you start to get regular movements. When is your next MW appointment? I think from around 16 weeks, they will try to listen to the heartbeat with a doppler.

I had a big bleed at 12w with continuous brown spotting for another 3w after that and another big bleed at 16w which spotting stopped after a week or so. Currently 19w and I really hope I’m done with bleeding🤞🤞
anyway the constant worry was there everyday, I couldn’t even sleep as I was paranoid that I will start bleeding. Crazy rollercoaster.
I know it’s not recommended but in those early days I bought a Doppler at home so I was checking for my babies heartbeats before bedtime and tbh with you that gave me such a relief and reassurance! Also again I know it’s not recommended but I had private scans every 2w to check on bubas and put my mind at ease.
I know it’s really stressful situation try to relax and remember at this point the odds are that everything will turn out well🫶🏻

I had a big bleed at 14 weeks and spotted brown with those bits you have too, that lasted 3 weeks or so. Honestly I think just keeping your mind busy will help and if you can, a private scan to ease your worries. The spotting will eventually end, it lasts for different amounts of time for everyone. I was anxious for the whole time and still am, I think I will be until my 20 week scan in ten days. Just try and stay positive and keep your mind busy and know that the brown spotting is just the old stuff coming out and all completely normal after a SCH ❤️

I had a bleed at 13 weeks with spotting for several weeks afterwards. Then another smaller bleed at 21 weeks with spotting for maybe a week afterwards. TBH I worried right up until I gave birth. My local hospital was fab, I had regular (monthly) scans to check the placenta and was advised I would probably have to deliver early. But as it turned out I ended up full term with a beautiful, if slightly cranky, baby.
Easy to say, but try and rest/ relax as much as possible. Ask your midwife if any extra scans will be possible. X

I had a huge bleed at 11 weeks and then spotted til around 16/17 weeks with my second child. I worried the whole time, I think that's only natural, but everything turned out just fine. X
