Wondering has anyone taken protein shakes or had any advice regarding them?
I've read protein is important and I can't eat that much much due to food aversions and feel I'm not getting enough protein . Some days I'm not getting any as I'm still on beige food even tho I'm 19 weeks.
My shake ingredients are whey protein, coconut sugar and vanilla extract. That's it

It’s the quality of the protein powder more than the shake it’s self. You need to avoid protein powders that have things like heavy metals and additives in them or high levels of certain vitamins/added extras. You would be better off finding a clean protein powder and making your own shakes at home

I'd be more concerned by the ingredients list in protein powders, so much rubbish in there.

I was told by my midwife that the research is currently pretty scant but to watch put for Vitamin A. Plus additives which currently have unknown documented affects.

Instead she said to keep taking prenatal vitamins if I couldn't eat due to aversions and to try home made smoothies. And to drink lots of water. I was also on iron due to low iron levels.

I use to make a Peanut butter, yogurt, banana smoothie with oat milk, Almond milk or cows milk. Then stick the lid on the mixing cup very quickly (hold your breath) and put it in the fridge for 30 to 40. Give it a shake and then drink. I found putting it in the fridge and using a large straw kept the smell down which helped big time.

My nausea lasted from 12 wks until 34 wks. It was hellish. I lost alot of weight but they weren't concerned as I was keeping up with vitamins and eating what/when I could.

@CoconutGirI that's the protein powder I use... the below is from their site
"The answer for most people is yes, with the exception of our Raw Cacao & Maca organic whey protein. It’s always wise to consult your doctor first however, in case in case there is anything in your medical history we aren't aware of that might cause it to be unsuitable for you :-) "

It's one of the cleanest there is so I'll still be using it. Albeit probably not as much as before 😆
