Bedside Crib

Hi can anyone recommend a bedside crib for a newborn? We will not he cosleeping at all so she will be sleeping in the bedside crib all the time for first 6 months. We have a sold wooden bed frame so it can't be a crib that needs to go under the bed.
Also if there's one on wheels that we would be able to take through to the living room etc that would be great ( we live on the one floor so don't need to worry about it being heavy to lift downstairs etc)

If you don't want to co sleep then I'd recommend a moses basket on a stand. They're portable so you can carry it into the kitchen etc. They're also usually cheaper and prettier.

Both bedside cribs and moses baskets get outgrown by around 5-6m so you might as well go for a cheaper option imo

We have the Tutti Bambini Cozee Air - this has the option of either wheels or rocking frame.

Not used it yet as baby not here but we are very pleased with it and have built it / moved it around.

We had a Tutti Bambini in the bedroom next to the bed. We never had it pushed right up against the bed (I had fears of my duvet falling in and covering his face). Then we had a Moses basket in the living room. If you only want to buy one, I’d buy the bedside crib, not the Moses basket. The Moses basket is much smaller than the crib so it’s outgrown much sooner - I think by 3 months it was getting tight. Plus it’s easier to get baby in and out of the bedside crib when you unzip the side, which is good if you have pain from birth.

I wouldn't recommend a Moses basket, they are very small and will be outgrown by typical babies by 4 months and by longer babies quicker than that.

In terms of bedside cribs the chicco next to me is one of the better ones for longevity and will comfortably last to 6 months for most babies (not my huge baby but hey ho!). That also has wheels although I'm not sure how manoeuvrable it is.

If you're not bothered about the pull down side you could get a travel cot with an adjustable height mattress. Probably something you would use in future too.

Or can you just put a full sized crib in your room?

What pram are you getting? A lot of carrycots suitable for overnight sleep so you could just use that. If it’s the Uppababy Vista for example that has the option of a stand for your room. There’s also no reason why you couldn’t try the big cot from the beginning either. Baby could hate but that’s true of anything. Moses baskets are also good because they’re cheap and they’re light to carry about so don’t need wheels, although I’m sure wheeled stands exist. But baby will outgrow it before 6 months so you’ll need another solution if you want them to stay in your room for the recommended amount of time, that could be a travel cot though!

Thanks all! The Tuti bambini cozee looks perect!
We are planning to move house when baby is around 5-6 months so don't plan on buying a cot until then.

with the snuzpod you can lift the crib off and take it elsewhere for day naps :) that sold it for us.

I just bought the silver cross voyager. Looks lovely, is on wheels and comes with a carry cot bag. It’s got £30 off it at the minute I. Their website

Maxi-Cosi Iora Air Bedside Crib very spacious, airy and adjusts height to your bed. Also folds down easily to be taken as a travel cot on holiday/to family.

The Snuzpod has a removable top so you can move it around the house and leave the stand attached to the bed.

Also have the tutti bambini cozee here. Works well, easy for me to lift baby in and out. I know you say no cosleeping but honestly most do it by accident. I didn't want to, but if I'm really tired I set baby up according to safe cosleeping guidelines. If I stay awake to transfer (like 95%) then great, but on off chance I fall asleep at least it is safe as possible. I was very gung ho I'll just stay awake before baby was born but swiftly realised I'm human and I very much do get tired enough to fall asleep while holding him. Rocking them is very soothing, cuddling them a big oxytocin boost. It literally makes it more likely to fall asleep.

I use the chicco next 2 me dream I just keep all the sides up. I had one for my first and just bought another for my second. It can also be used as a travel cot for first 6 months which is good.
