Hello. I am pregnant and have tried to be so careful with the ingredients in skin creams and foundation/make-up. I have read a lot and now I find out that my foundation contains BUTYLOCTYL SALICYLATE, ginseng and licorice root. I am completely panicking to think that I have used this as it says that it is dangerous for the foetus. I am panicking right now:/

@Mia098 ive seen some of your other posts and honestly I have some serious concerns about your healthcare professionals. You have said in your other posts that your doctor has told you to consider abortion because you drank alcohol before you knew you were pregnant. Almost everyone I know who has had babies has drank before knowing. You also said a midwife said that you shouldn’t have gotten the whooping cough vaccine, which seems crazy as any midwife will tell you how incredibly important it is after the whooping cough outbreak where several babies lost their lives. Now a doctor is feeding you misinformation about very small amounts of ingredients in skincare.

whatever healthcare trust you are with you need to find a new one asap and put in a complaint because they are terrible healthcare professionals.

Never trust anyone who says something opens or closes pores, it’s not something pores do. It’s certainly not something a health professional would tell you. If someone says it opens pores they are lying.

That ^^

They put warnings on packets of peanuts that they contain nuts
If it wasn't safe for use in pregnancy, there would be warnings on it
How many people have you heard of with pregnancy issues caused by makeup? Your skin is a great barrier or we would be absorbing all kinds of stuff

@PickledScrump it's the same doctor I spoke to about both the alcohol and the make-up, and where I live, the whooping cough vaccine has not been recommended for pregnant women before, so it's completely new. that's probably why my midwife was skeptical about it. I don't know how to get in touch with other health personnel, I can always change doctors, but my midwife is otherwise very caring and kind to me. but I think they are just being honest and saying what they think and sharing their knowledge when I ask them. yes, I'm worried as a pregnant woman and want to do the best I can, that's also why I'm asking the healthcare professional.

@PawsisShady that is what is so difficult, and probably why it is also difficult to research, because those who research this can see connections. and many pregnant women do not know that they should stay away from this content and then it may be difficult to know whether ingredients in various things may be due to the child having been affected.

@Mia098 where are you? It doesn’t sound as though these people are trained medical professionals at all as what they are saying is not true. They should not be giving opinions out as medical fact, sounds more like someone has just googled and found false information.
