Could this be a bad sign, waters have broken, yellow mucus!

41+2 weeks pregnant… so earlier today when I pulled up at the birth centre for my 4th sweep my water started leaking so I had a test that confirmed my water had definitely gone. Been sent home to see if labour starts itself.
All day I’ve had some really yellow mucus discharge which is what I assumed was my mucus plug coming loose. Midwife saw the colour of the mucus and said she wasn’t concerned and babies heartbeat sounded fine. Waters are continuing to leak, contractions are starting to build but I’m still getting a lot of this yellow mucus and I can’t tell if my waters are that colour or if the mucus is colouring the water on my pad. I’m in two minds about whether to be concerned because the midwife wasn’t worried but could this be a sign baby has pooed inside?
TMI but I’ve attached a pic for reference.

Yes same happened to me, went straight to hospital and it was meconium. I was told baby would need to be delivered within 24hrs max. Hope it all goes well! 💐

itsjustturbulance · 12/02/2024 22:32

Looks like bubs has pooed. Expect a baby very soon if so! Good luck x

xaxayxey · 14/02/2024 01:06

Thank you everyone……… it was meconium, baby was slightly stressed as she was coming out sunny side up 🍳 she arrived perfect in every way via emergency c section.
I can’t thank you all enough for your advice as it most likely saved my little Lilys health 💖

What a beautiful baby! Huge congratulations. I have been wondering how you both were, thanks for the lovely update 💕

MixedCouple · 14/02/2024 06:57

At 41 weeks if that was meconum it would be brown not yellow.
My Mucas plug looked that colour to.

If you.have the time your could sit on top of a basin for a while and colour a sample and analayse it. If clear with this floating then your fine. But if the water is darker and more brawny then I would call up.

The sweep must have made a small puncture that is possible. But as a slow leak they probably want to just monitor you.
All the best of luck. If you can try to get things going. Movements. Yoga. Etc.

Legoroses · 14/02/2024 15:28

Oh, she is so beautiful. And I know people will say its impossible but she looks really happy. I wish her an entirely joyous life.

(Nb I had a undetected slow leak and my eldest went floppy at about 10 days old. She had IV antibiotics and a few days in hospital. She was totally fine. But drs could only ascribe the mystery infection to that untreated slow leak.)

Gooseysgirl · 15/02/2024 00:11

What a beauty 🥰 I'm so glad all was well in the end. Warmest congrats 💐 My DD was also an EMCS 24hrs after almost identical meconium to yours OP, and was also sunny side up as it happens 😄 I was fully dilated but she was not budging!!
