Aahhhhhh, weeks and weeks and weeks of having a bloody gymnast in my body! It's over active I swear, if this thing moves as much now as it does after being born, I'll never see sleep again!

I'm like a punch bag on the inside, I know it's meant to be all "cute" and happy when the baby moves, and of course I'm delighted it's very much alive but it's relentless and uncomfortable!

I used to think of being a surrogate but that's gone out the window lol

My son was very active as a foetus 😂 word of warning though, he never stopped and now he’s in primary school and is very active even now! My more laid back foetus has been my more laid back kid.

My first was like this, he's never stopped, he cannot stay still and he's 3 now. Good luck!!!

This thread brings me back. Our pre-birth nickname for dd was "crazy baby" because she would not stop moving. Those were the days.

skkyelark · 12/02/2024 17:16

I had two perpetual motion machines in utero, and they were similarly active as small babies (and vehemently protested things like swaddles – they finally had space to stretch and flail and kick and no way were they having it taken away from them). Interestingly, they're not over the top active at 2 and 4. They're still very busy, but that busy can be with the play kitchen or a jigsaw puzzle as well as tearing up and down the hallway and jumping off the sofa. As they became able to do more, they seemed to find outlets for their busyness that weren't just physical motion.

Haha I’m 34 weeks and sometimes have moments where the movements really annoy me, or just take my breath away for a second cus they’re so intense.

User3353235 · 12/02/2024 17:26

DD was the exactly same and she continued to be a hyperactive toddler and child. Even when she falls asleep it's in a crazy pose which looks like a freeze frame of her running or moving around 😂.

Haha thanks for the replies everyone. Made my day 😊

My first was like that and she ended up doing professional training as a dancer when she was 18. I’ve never really been able to explain just how much she moved and how much it hurt! I ended up seeing the physios in the hospital and I had a massive tubigrip around my tummy to try and ease the pain. She’s currently training for a half marathon!!

Strange. Are you 15?

I assume this was meant for a different thread?

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 12/02/2024 21:16

I assume it was an arsey comment 🙄

One of mine kicked me in the bowels once, when I was in a board meeting, caused me to involuntarily fart. Really loudly.

😳

The same (giant) baby used to stretch out so you could see his individual toes through my skin, just before he moved again and jammed them up under my ribs.

He's over 6 foot tall now. And lovely. And doesn't kick me. ❤️

@ooooohnoooooo My youngest used to do that. I would settle down to watch tv and be able to watch my stomach stretch in 2-3 directions simultaneously.

Once we took the cot bars away when he was 2, he decided to recreate the experience on a nightly basis by stretching out in a similar way in our bed.

It was no more fun that way, either.

Yuckyyuckyuckity · 12/02/2024 23:47

I'm pregnant with my second and was gobsmacked when I was told I have an anterior placenta again because the difference in movements is insane.

First child's movements were delicate and never really formed a pattern, whereas this one doesn't stop! Hiccups, heartbeats, foot right under ribs, head nudging bladder. It sometimes takes me by surprise but I love it. The only thing is he seems to stop moving anytime my husband puts his hand on my bump to feel movements. He stops straight away 😂

It was a long time ago now, but my first baby used to have hiccups inside me. It wasn't painful or uncomfortable, but bloody annoying!

I get it. Felt like my dd hiccupped for the full 9 months. When she was first put into my arms when born, she was hiccupping, and I realised that was what I'd been feeling for months on end.

I don't know if it was connected with her hiccups, but my DD had colic for the first three months and later on in her childhood nasty stomach problems - severe pain and vomiting. After a lot of visits to the doctor she was finally diagnosed with a hiatus hernia at about 14 - they said she was probably born with it.

My little boy was like this, he kicked so much and so hard.
