First Pregnancy - Constantly worrying

This is my first pregnancy and although I am waiting on an NIPT results, I’m constantly worrying that the baby is okay. I haven’t felt any movements yet (I’m 17+4). Is it normal to be worried all the time 😩

Hey, it's certainly normal to be worried. You're carrying around a precious little baby in your belly and it's all new to you.
I'm pregnant with my 2nd and even though I've had a baby before those early weeks I was constantly worried.
If it's something that's getting too much or taking over then please speak to your midwife/doctor about it.
Take care of yourself ☺️

Hey hun, I’m sure we bumped before on threads🫶🏻
I’m 17w as well and I can completely sympathize your situation. I’m going mad about every little thing😭 from discharge to cramps to no bump to not feeling movement etc crazy roller coaster!!
stay strong and try to distract yourself(easier said than done)
I have a Doppler at home(yes yes I know it’s not recommended) but it gives me so much reassurance! Also I do book private scans whenever my feelings are getting out of control. I know either it’s not the best to deal with your emotions but I would do anything to put my mind at ease🫶🏻

CB2805 - Thanks for replying and reassuring me I’m not the only one making myself go mad. It’s so hard as it’s the first baby I don’t know what to expect or what I’m meant to feel. I had a private scan last weekend and my 20 week scan is in 2 weeks. The wait along with waiting for my NIPT results is unbearable. I think I’m driving my partner mad with my anxiety and mad thoughts 🤦🏻‍♀️

@AimeeLou84 did they found anything concerning on your NT scan? Tbh with you when they find anything concerning they always try to get in touch asap, so I would take it as it’s nothing to worry about?
my partner is going mad at me as well🤣

After my first pregnancy ended in miscarriage at 11 weeks I was so nervous in my second pregnancy. I kept thinking “once I’ve had the 12 week scan I’ll stop worrying”… “once I get to 14 weeks I’ll stop worrying”… “once we have the 20 week scan”… “once I feel regular movement”… I never stopped worrying until I held my baby in my arms (then comes a whole new set of worries!)
You’re quite early in first pregnancy to be feeling movement, I don’t think I did until about 20 weeks. Then my DS’s movements were so sporadic throughout pregnancy that added to my worry. If anything really bothers you or doesn’t feel right, get checked. But as much as possible, do try to relax and enjoy it, easier said than done I know.

So my 12 week scan they couldn’t measure the NT so referred me for the Quad test. Which is where it come back high risk with the age factor as 1 in 133 then my bloods pushed it to 1 in 137. It’s just so stressful. I just want to enjoy it but until I get those and hopefully good news I can’t

I think worrying is so normal, especially in a first pregnancy - I remember crying with relief in my 12 week scan as I was so worried I'd have miscarried or something would have gone wrong without me knowing. For both of my pregnancies I was cautious about talking in definite terms about the baby arriving too (when they're here, etc), just in case it tempted fate, which I'm sure is nonsense but it made me feel better.

@AimeeLou84 i hope you get those good news soon🤞🤞 honestly i know it’s not easy but i wouldn’t worry there are so many stories out there everything turning just fine with those odds. Also, those results are highly based on age which in my opinion is not very accurate!
keep me updated with your results, I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you and as I said before I really believe and hope everything will be fine🫶🏻🫶🏻
