Hi I am 20 weeks first pregnancy, I've been told that I have a posterior placenta! I haven't felt any kicks! Flutters, bubbles popping I do but not every day! When did you start feeling more movement and what does it feel like?

I was quite worried at your stage of pregnancy. In my case, I had friends and relatives who had possibly unreliable memories of their own pregnancies ('I felt movements from 12 weeks when pregnant with you') worrying about my lack of movements. No matter how often I said the obstetrician had said they wouldn't look to do anything unless I got to 24 weeks with no signs of movement, they wouldn't believe me. I had to reassure myself regularly by reading the NHS advice.

At my 20 week scan (at 21+4) it was a relief to see him move. I barely felt any of the movements I saw (tbf, he was mostly wiggling his fingers or kicking his umbilical cord). Baby will have periods of being asleep too.

If you're very worried it is worth speaking to the midwife who may be able to reassure you or possibly offer to listen to the heartbeat.

It's very nerve wracking isn't it! I sometimes think people say they feel kicks to us to make us worried and think something is wrong.

I had my 20 +3 day scan today and she was wiggling away the scan women said that if it's your first pregnancy then it's a lot later if you don't feel movement at 24 then talk with your midwife.
I've got a back placenta and I was told that she was healthy and everything looked good! I don't think we will ever stop worrying tho it's natural xx
