Booking appointment advice

Help, feel a bit anxious about my booking appointment which is in a couple of weeks. Firstly I'm a bigger lady and worried that the midwife will make a comment about my weight/bmi in front of my partner or will mention the actual figures (he doesnt know my weight or dress size). Also I had hpv in the past that he's not aware of. I know it might seem silly to some but it's all literally keeping me awake. Any advice?

Why is he having bloods? Are you in the UK? This isn't standard procedure in the UK. I work in an obstetric clinic and have never heard of the father having blood tests at any stage of the pregnancy care.

@Babiesforme ah that's good! You should be absolutely fine after 7 years, everything will be nice and recovered. I only waited 6 months 🙈 the consultant said I should have waited 2 years but was never told that!

You don't need to take your partner to booking appointment, I didn't. Take him to scans but midwife appointments are just for you really

The OP has mentioned sickle cell, and the NHS website says screening is offered to the father if the mother is found to be a carrier, so I assume it's this?

@Babiesforme they will have it on your records if you’ve had a Lletz procedure as you’ll be sent for extra scans on your cervix. If it helps I had a baby 7 years and 5 years after lletz and both times the cervix showed no shortening, at one point it actually got longer. I carried both to full term with no stitches required.

Thank you @PickledScrump that's really reassuring!
