I have multiple things im worried over i called the gp to ask to speak to my midwife on the phone, they said no theyre not booking another appointment for me as I have one end of feb... she didnt even ask the problem just straight no.
I have emailed this midwife email on my notes twice.. no response in over a week even though about a month ago when I emailed them they replied within an hour
ive rang the non urgent midwife place on my notes too this morning around 9 am, they said someone will call me today and guess what no call! theyre shut now and dont open again till Monday 9am..
I cant tell you how fed up I am im so annoyed and feel so let down i have no idea what to do... I have no avenues left to contact why does everyone else seem to have there midwife's numbers etc can contact anytime of the day or night

I would say if you have concerns, ring your maternity triage number and explain your concerns to them. They can tell you whether they feel they need to see you urgently, or whether to wait until Monday to see GP. The triage line is there for exactly that, to either advise people to come in and get checked out, or signpost them to what they should do next.
Hope you get some advice soon.

Well I did do that but they never called this is the issue 😫

Your maternity triage line is the urgent line- should be on your notes/app. It is often covered by the labour ward out of hours but will have it's own member of staff answering during the day. They can tell you whether you need to go in to be checked or wait to see GP.

I read it in your OP as you phoned the non urgent line e.g. the midwives office line but if this is not the case, apologies. If you phoned the urgent line and were promised a call back and haven't heard anything by morning then call them again.

The swelling of the hands is a concern is would go to A&E and let them check your properly.

DiscoStusMoonboots · 02/02/2024 20:36

If you have swollen hands and are concerned about your heart rate/blood pressure, go straight to antenatal triage. I speak from experience.

cestlavielife · 02/02/2024 20:50

Well if 111 say go to a and e then go to a and e
Berter you go and all is well
Than. Not go and there is an issue

just to clarify I have spoken to the midwife about the swollen hands about a week ago and she didnt seem worried as didnt have other symptoms
I did check my blood pressure 3 days ago was normal my hands are fairly the same swollen as well I would say actually tbhg

the pulse, and heartbeat is an ongoing thing which I have been to doctors for over the past 2 weeks, I have a fast heart anyway have even before pregnancy but I just want to settle my worry as I feel like nothing is ever done/ ruled out

I will probably phone the non urgent line again Monday or doctors not sure who best to call

I feel fine in myself and my scan went fine today thats why im not going to a&e

but do people think these symptoms seem urgent? even when ongoing for few weeks

also to mention when I made the call earlier to non urgent midwife people and mentioned the hb in ear she said its probably nothing to worry about as we have extra blood thats probably what it is but she still said if I want to talk to someone I can as I said yes as I have a few things I want to ask

My heart rate increased in both my pregnancies, it's normal enough and just due to the extra effort needed to pump a bigger blood volume around your body. I wouldn't worry about that personally.

Minor swelling in your hands is also normal enough, in the absence of other symptoms and normal BP it isn't worrying. By all means keep an eye on it though. I took my rings off in later pregnancy as they just felt a bit tighter.

You should have a 24hour number to call with concerns, mine was the local midwife led unit nearby. They will triage you over the phone and if you need to be seen they will bring you in for assessment.
