Hi. When did everyone get their positive pregnancy tests?
I am currently 6 days until my period is due and unsure when to start testing. I have took a couple out of curiosity but have been negative.

First month trying to conceive so a bit all over the place with timings.

Thanks!

Should start testing atleast 10DPO if you know your ovulation date.

If not it will be the start of your missed period when it will be detected.

Doing it 6 days before your period will bring up a BFN, you should download a fettility app, it will tell you qhen your most fertile and when you ovulate and when to test.

So according to my FLO app I am 8/9 DPO, I don't particularly feel pregnant yet either. I don't think FLO advises when to take a test. Do you have any recommendations of apps to use?

MN is the only place I've ever heard of people testing prior to a missed period. It took us 3 years until I got a positive (now 22 weeks) and I think the heartache and potential for chemicals in 3 years of negatives would have broken me.

As it was I never tested until the day my period was due if it hadn't arrived or maybe the day before if I felt different, so 3 or 4 times over the 3 years.

10dpo is very early and lots of people will still get negatives then.

My approach when TTC was that I didn't test until my period was late, but if I wanted to drink or just felt a bit odd or had a weird urge or anything then I'd test a couple of days early.

@baby2xx i have the femometer app, you have to pay each month for it, which is a bit of a pain, but its crazy to think what it actually tells you.

It asks about cm, LH tests, HCG tests, then goes on to take your symptoms and mood, it was flagged on mine other day about conception but is still telling me to be atleast 10DPO to test!

Im also currently on 8dpo! If you find it works for you just test every morning using your first urine.

Sending some baby dust your way while your ttc! X

You only have about a 20% chance to conceive each month, even if you've got the timing etc perfectly right. So not obsessing over early testing was the way I kept myself sane tbh. 20% is high enough that it does happen for most people within about 8 cycles. But not so high that you should be expecting it to definitely happen at any given cycle if that makes sense.

@baby2xx We started TTC in September, finally got our BPF 2 weeks ago.

I remember for that first cycle I was obsessive and I was convinced I was pregnant. I tested several times before my period was due and each time I got a negative I just told myself “it’s fine because I’m testing early, I’m probably actually pregnant”. Even when I got my period I told myself it could be implantation bleeding until it clearly was a proper period. It was really disappointing but I did it to myself by obsessing.

After that I just relaxed, tracked my cycle with the Apple Health app, and didn’t really think about it each month. I took a couple of tests but never really believed they’d be positive until this month when my period was 2 days late, and lo and behold that was when I got the positive result.
