looking for advice from any persons here who have suffered from placenta praevia, classed as Major.. a grade 3/4.. with occasional bleeding. i'm getting conflicting advice from consultants and midwives. 1 is saying crack on and keep doing what you are going, and the other is saying don't even do pelvic floor exercises.. i just don't know what to do for the best

Yes I had a very frightening bleed at about 15 weeks (I think from memory), which is when it was discovered and I was extremely careful after that. Had caesarean at 37 weeks so as not to go into labour. All well, DC is now 21

I have a low lying anterior placenta I am scared 2 trying to not over do it but not said anything to me. Hopefully it moves

Complete placenta previa, 3 bleeds over 8 days and then emcs at 34 weeks. Before that I was able to crack on with life and exercise with my midwife’s full support, she was an excellent home birth, high risk and community midwife.

I had my section at 36 weeks and my hysterectomy during the section due to bleeding

My womb had embedded itself onto my bladder

Me too. Having a scan at 28 weeks and then, if necessary, at 32 to see if it's moved or not. It's a little scary, especially when you read about things that could go wrong.

Nat2903 · 30/01/2024 22:06

Hopefully will move for us, been fine up to now

catmomma67 · 19/04/2024 21:27

i forgot to update.... so after 12 weeks of 'high risk, don't do anything, go to the hospital if a. b. or c. happens..

32 week scan and all is fine, placenta has moved and a natural birth it will be

Mine moved and is now way up at the top BUT baby is currently breech at 36+4 so I swapped one c-section risk for another 🙄😂

oh no! are you ok? daughter has another growth scan tomorrow.. the midwife is measuring her as very very big, like well over the 100th centile big!!

but the scans are coming back as average size baby...

no idea now whats going to happen.. which measurement do they use? the midwifes or the growth scan?

@catmomma67 Growth scans are more accurate (and that's what I've had plotted on my chart for this pregnancy) BUT they predicted my son would be a whole pound heavier than he actually turned out to be so take them with a pinch of salt too. Sonographers have told me they tend to over estimate.

And yes I'm ok :) Baby's head is pressing on my stomach lots which is annoying after eating but eh. Plan is to have an ECV on Wednesday to try and turn baby but if that fails I'll be getting a c-section date booked. Not at all what I wanted so fingers crossed the ECV works!

fingers cross for you, my DIL has a baby in january and she had GD so they induced her at 39 but at 36 he was breach.... thankfully he turned himself around and she delivered naturally after induction.

hope all goes well

on a side note, she's having some concerning pain and tightenings today, i suspect we are going to have an april baby and not a may one after all :)
