aha I was about to recommend the same. We've bought it for ds who is nearly two and he seems to show more interest in my bump and talks about baby in mummy's tummy since reading it. I like it as it's a proper story rather than a factual thing.

A Child is Born is a 'grown up' book about pregnancy but my dd is the same age as yours and loves looking at the pictures, which really are beautiful. There is also a Sheila Kitzinger one called 'Being Born' that is in the same vein, the words are a bit hippyish, but again the pictures are lovely.

Would second "There's a House", DD was 2.9 and LOVED it.
I also took her along to a lot of the midwife's appointments (with her Doctor's bag ) Midwives were brilliant and really involved her though she wasn't too keen on the noise the baby's heartbeat made, something midwives said was very common so be warned. She talked non-stop about it after each visit so wasn't too disturbed!

If you are thinking of a homebirth then Hello Baby is wonderful.

It is also worth going to your local library and asking one of the librarians for some help they are usually fab because they know what is out there and what is popular and helpful
