Baby due on Friday, still no sign when will it all happen?

Hi ya my baby is due this Friday and there is still no sign of labour.

I have had a bit of a tough time throughout the pregnancy and my midwife warned me he could come early.

I am getting braxton hicks infrequently but nothing painful. Where is this baby!?
I haven't lost the 'plug' yet and I am restless and tired. I can't lye down without the food and stomach acid being brought up. I am so fed up! I just want it to happen!

(this is my first baby) Anyone got any ideas on how to make him come out?!!

sex sex and more sex
driving over speed bumps
nipple stimulation
curries
organise to do something else - babies have a way of turning up when its most inconvenient lol

try to relax, if you've had a tough time you've done well to get this far, baby will come when he's good and ready

good luck!

I agree with dizzy. I was about to write sex, sex and sex. Oh, and then get up in the morning and wash the car.

Good luck. I remember feeling the same when DS didn't show up on time, because my due date coincided with an all-day danceout that I had spent the whole summer joking about - ie I would be there in the morning but probably depart, in an ambulance, partway through. Once said danceout and party were over, I remember thinking ' this is all some wierd joke and I am just going to be PG forever... But at least if you are only 5 days off being due, whenever he/she comes it will be full-term - and no matter what, you will not have to wait more than a fortnight to have him/her.

long walks too maybe round and round the bloke rather than straying too far!!

dizzychixies · 19/03/2008 23:28

apparently if you go up and down the stairs sideways it helps your pelvis, might not get things going as such but every little helps

do you have a gym ball? get bouncing on that too!

mistyamica · 19/03/2008 23:30

Haha! yeah we've been at it like rabbits but thats not working!

I really don't want to be pg for another two weeks I also feel like i've been pg since...forever! lol!

Are there any signs I should look out for that might give me an indication labour is about to start?

An average first baby doesn't show up until around 41 weeks left to its own devices. Frankly I doubt any of the folk approaches to bringing on labour actually work, but they give you something to do . In which spirit, I have been advised to take lavender baths (I'm due in two weeks with #2).

In terms of signs labour may be going to start, some women seem to get an attack of the squits and/or vomiting a day or so beforehand, but that's only a minority. Another thing that I've seen mentioned, that did happen to me a little with DS, is shedding pubic hair a bit (oh, what glorious late-pregnancy mental images this is constructing). In fact, that was the only sign of any sort I had before my waters went (no BH, no twinges, no nothing).

The squits and a show.

It's now Friday and still the little git isn't making an appearance! I haven't had any signs either!
