Hi All, I'm wondering if anyone would be able to give me any sort of comfort or advice really? I recently found out i am pregnant which i am over the moon about, digital test says 1-2 weeks so i'll be around 3-4. This weekend I have experienced some cramping and bleeding, enough to require a pad. It hasn't shown any sign of stopping as of yet after about 1/2 days, i called 111 and they just told me to keep an eye on it/ take paracetamol.

I tested positive last October and miscarried soon after, I had passed a large clot. Which is why i think I'm worrying over it more this time. I haven't passed any clots, just blood, it's not heavy i would say light/moderate. But I also have an Ectropion on my cervix and this bleeds regularly and very easily, which i have read some people's responses to other queries talking about this also.

Should i just relax and keep an eye as to if i pass any clots?
I'm waiting on a call back from the midwives to speak about this also, i'm just really nervous/ worried.

Could you try call the local early pregnancy unit for advice?
Sadly they might say to wait it out as they won’t scan before 6 weeks. They might ask you to keep an eye on it and if it becomes heavier or more painful to contact them again.

I had bleeding when I was around 5 weeks and then again 8-9 weeks and I’m now in my third trimester so not all bleeding is bad. It could be that this is roughly your period time so your still having a bit of a bleed-
that’s what I was told by the midwives.

🤞 for you!

Ive had 2 miscarriages, first at 6+1 and second at 5+3.
I rang the EPU with my second and told them i was bleeding and that ive experienced a miscarriage previously and im very scared that the second time could be going down the same route.

They got me in for a scan the next day!

Not all bleeding is bad, it can happen but for piece of mind its better to get checked, if your nervous and feel like something isnt right, then go ahead and tell them your over 6 weeks pregnant, even tell them your 7 weeks and experiencing some bleeding.

They cannot refuse you a scan, they'll juat do an internal one and tell you the outcome.

You need your piece of mind, so your not worrying or stressed about it, keep persisting that something isnt right and if they refuse to scan you, ask why, its better to get an answer if they refuse.

Good luck OP x

ive called the local doctors I’m not aware of an early clinic nearby, and I’ve spoke to the midwives and a chemist and all have told me different and very dismissive. Spoken to the maternity ward and they told me to go to a&e, they made me do a wee test which they said theirs is extremely accurate and was Negative!! However I have q bagful of tests which are all positive and one this morning which was positive also. Very confused and I don’t believe it at al. I’ve had no clots and it just feels like a period and still testing positive so very confused and worried.

Could the midwife give you the number to the local maternity hospital that you could call?
It could be your urine is more diluted later in the day so the test has shown negative or regrettably you could be experiencing a chemical pregnancy .
Sorry to say but before 6 weeks I found everyone very apologetic but unable to help. I ended up booking a private scan for my own reassurance but before 6 weeks it’s unlikely you will see anything so the sonogrpaher wouldn’t be able to confirm a pregnancy.

Another gp has called me back since and had arranged an internal ultrasound just to see if the pregnancy is viable and done more tests at home and still say positive I suppose it’s a waiting game

I hope you manage to get some answers soon OP. I honestly think the early stages of pregnancy are the hardest because while it feels like the biggest thing in the world to you, because there is very little hospitals are able to do to help, I do think they can sound/be really quite dismissive when you have worries. X

I would try to get seen by EPU / GP, however I think sadly at this early stage there isn't much they can do regardless so it is just a wait and see... Keeping everything crossed for you op x

Hopefully your internal goes well but please don’t be disheartened if you don’t see anything because most women don’t see anything until the 6 week mark.

charlotte1710 · 23/01/2024 13:33

Thanks all 💓Update - I have zero cramps/ pain and i have no bleeding, i have had very light pink/ watery on tissue after i wipe from the toilet that's all.

Just going to keep testing at home and see if the scan brings anything up, although if they tell me there is nothing there on the scan i may wait until week 6 and go for an early scan just to confirm if baby is all okay.

Could there be a possibility of an irritated cervix? Has anyone checked?

charlotte1710 · 24/01/2024 18:48

I have an ectropion on my cervix and it bleeds regularly but no one wants to listen as I have said can this be checked by all have just disregarded me. Scan tomorrow and gynaecology app next month to have a look at my cervix so have to wait and see

OP I agree with previous posters that bleeding isn’t always bad, this has happened to me and had both outcomes.

Hopefully you can get some reassurance soon.

I hope your scan goes well and you can get some answers soon!
