When did you first feel baby move?

17 weeks today and I thought I could feel baby flutters earlier on in the week but for the past 2 days I’ve felt nothing. Now, obviously, I’m worried that something has happened to the baby- either the movements have stopped or we’re never there. It’s my first baby so I’m over thinking everything!

16 weeks with first and 15 weeks with second. It's a myth that your placenta affects feeling movement. I have an anterior placenta and have felt both early and strong movements. It depends on how thick your placenta is and how much fat you have on your stomach (was told this by placenta specialist doctor).

About 16 weeks with both of mine.
A very strange co incidence with my second baby. Over 19 years later, on the same date I first felt him move, his own first child was born!

Around 21 weeks that I started feeling movements I was sure about and that were happening regularly. I did feel things I thought might be baby from around 18 weeks but you wouldn't expect those to be every day at that stage - definitely don't worry if you can't feel them regularly at that point. They're still very small with lots of room in there. Midwife didn't ask me about movements until 24 weeks and didn't tell me to monitor them until 28 weeks.

That's really interesting as I also had to see a placenta specialist doctor and was told that position of the placenta can have a big impact on what you feel and when.

I do not have a lot of stomach fat, normal BMI etc but I really struggled with feeling anything throughout my whole pregnancy and was in a lot with reduced movements.
She'd be moving like crazy on the scan yet I couldn't feel a thing, all because of where my placenta was (yes, the thickness played a part too).

I've got everything crossed for a different experience this time around as I'd love to feel proper baby kicks!

20 weeks with my first :) and I've got a high anterior placenta so felt it all at the bottom of the bump!

21 weeks, this is my first

About 20 weeks with DD1. With both DD2 and DD3 it was around 12 or 13 weeks.
