Hi,
i have been trying to look online and gauge peoples thoughts on this and it seems very mixed, I haven’t made my mind up yet.

i am currently due around 23/24 September with first child, my sister and I have Taylor Swift tickets for Wembley on 19th august, we do have seated tickets. I was just wondering if this was an absolute non starter or if anyone thinks it is doable 🤣.
we live in Glasgow so would be getting train down and staying over night then back the next day.. just the more I think about it the worse an idea it seems but then sometimes I’m not sure.
please don’t judge if it really is a bad idea cos I’m just clueless and need told 🤣

I wouldn't have wanted to travel that far at 8 months. But maybe you're braver than me!

Ptfcangel · 18/01/2024 22:04

Definitely don’t think I’m brave lol.. maybe a bit naive at the moment 🤣

I went to one at nearly 38 weeks. I could barely stand by the end of the night cus my legs were so swollen BUT it was genuinely one of the best nights ever!! I didn't have to stay over tho...

notanaturalmum · 18/01/2024 22:08

Do it. And take your hospital bag to Wembley.
Also have a note of nearby hospitals and maybe a copy of your maternity notes in the car or something

Have a great time.

PrancerandDancer · 18/01/2024 22:10

Well worst case my friend is going to that one and she's a nurse so 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Depends how you feel at the time, I was quite sprightly at 8 months. Hopefully being a Swifty gig it won't be too wild!

Stressedoutmum27 · 18/01/2024 22:18

I went to the spice girls in Edinburgh (2hours away from home) at 38 weeks. I loved it & had no issues. I know I would have majorly regretted not going!

Hello98765 · 18/01/2024 22:48

I have the same problem exactly! due in early August and have tickets in the Europe tour, also to go with my sister, which I’ll definitely no longer be able to use as it involves flying. Totally gutted.

so sending sympathies and also - if you do decide not to go, I would love to buy your tickets from you and have another shot at going. I live in London so it wouldn’t be so hard.

snoopy18 · 18/01/2024 22:57

Some people would be fine doing this but depends on your body and pregnancy. My legs were swelling during first pregnancy around that time & my body aches and all sorts right now even at 33 weeks with second so wouldn’t have coped / enjoyed it very much. Such a tough one! Perhaps have someone on backup that may want to to go in your place and decide nearer the time?

RiderofRohan · 18/01/2024 23:52

I'm 7 months and would not cope with a concert. I'm already huge, anaemic and have bad pelvic pain. But everyone is different and there's no knowing how you'll feel by then.

ShadowOfTheSeason · 18/01/2024 23:55

As long as you're feeling ok, I can't see any reason not to go.

Mumoftwo1312 · 18/01/2024 23:57

If seated tickets, doable but possibly tiring/uncomfortable. If standing tickets, no way imo, for the vast majority of pregnant mums I've met.

I personally struggled commuting by then, in both pregnancies. Physically it'll be like a rush hour commute but for hours

LavenderSweetPea · 19/01/2024 06:46

I'm due my first in 3 weeks and still perfectly capable of going to a concert with seats (and did last month). So if you want to go, GO! It'll be a hell of a lot harder to do this kind of thing once baby comes - I say this as someone who has tickets for the same date as you and have had to arrange childcare 😂

PickledScrump · 19/01/2024 07:44

There’s been 3/4 of these posts the last few days, always 8 months pregnant, all for Taylor Swift. The majority of replies in every post is from people who have been to concerts at the same or later.

hopingfor23 · 19/01/2024 07:45

Also doing this! Travelling to Cardiff from Liverpool at over 8 months pregnant to see Taylor! As long as you have seats and your notes you'll be fine. I did a concert at 8 months with my son and it was fab - very glad of the seat and didn't have to queue for the loo cos everyone saw bump a mile off!

SareBear87 · 19/01/2024 08:41

I don't think you're naive, I went to a festival at 30 weeks. It 1000% depends on how you're feeling. I took things very VERY easy but felt fine and baby had a weekend happily kicking away.
I had chronic heartburn and swollen feet at the end of the day but took time to sit down and have some water regularly (it was also height of summer!)

I would say it's totally doable, so long as you feel it is!

theodora2146 · 19/01/2024 09:22

I'm glad I came across this!

I've got tickets for Michael McIntyre 5th April booked over a year ago, before I got pregnant!

I'm due 30th April but was thinking of selling but I guess I could still go if I'm feeling okay?

annlee3817 · 19/01/2024 13:13

Not quite 8 months, but I went to see Alannis Morisette at 30 weeks pregnant and it was fine, I sat when needed and had my notes with me just in case

SummaLuvin · 19/01/2024 14:20

The Eras tour is a little different to many comparables because it is so long, I believe Taylors set is 3hrs 30mins, plus support act on top of that. Bear in mind that while you may have seats the majority of the audience will be on their feet dancing that whole time, so to be able to see you will need to be standing too.

I think the Edinburgh dates are in June, I wonder if it might not be worth you seeing if you can get tickets for there (closer to you and further from your due date) then sell the Wembley ones on.

longingtobe23 · 19/01/2024 14:57

I am due the same 21-23rd and have tickets for the same date!!!

I’ll be going 😂 so long as I have a straight forward pregnancy I am not missing it!

LavenderSweetPea · 19/01/2024 16:31

I suppose the only other option is she's performing in June in London as well, do you know anyone with June tickets you can switch with just to be safe?

MaybeTooLate · 19/01/2024 16:34

I went to a concert at about this stage and had a great time- was standing but I just stayed near the back.

See how you feel but I'd be fine with this. You could have another 6 weeks to go!

KayakingBex · 19/01/2024 20:57

It’s possible - I went to a gig around 7/8 month mark I enjoyed it but I really struggled with energy levels - I don’t regret it though.

I had seated but at a lot of gigs unless you are in a disabled seating area people will stand up at gigs but you’ll at least have the option of sitting down if you need to. Hope you get to go!

Blue2020 · 19/01/2024 22:01

I wouldn’t have, but then my ds came at 35 weeks.

My friend went to a concert 50 miles away 3 days after her due date. Her baby didn’t arrive for another 8 days after that! She really enjoyed the concert, and she went to a wedding that week too.

elp30 · 19/01/2024 22:09

I saw David Bowie with Tin Machine on a Tuesday and I gave birth on Friday. I was even in the pit 🤦🏻‍♀️

I was my first pregnancy and I was 21 and didn't worry as much as I should have back then. If my daughter did that I certainly would audibly say "don't do it!" but I'm 53 now and much more cautious, if not a bit boring.

I would go, OP, but I would have contingency plans!

Haggisfish3 · 19/01/2024 22:12

I did elbow at eight months and it was ace-people were super nice because of pregnancy!
