Pregnant less than a month after miscarriage

I miscarried twins ( at around 7/ 8 weeks pregnant) around the 13th December 2023.
First time ever being pregnant. Not had a period since but had ovulation symptoms around 31 December and just taken x4 pregnancy tests tonight..Positive, strong lines! Feel like I’m dreaming. Scared, happy, anxious, excited, nervous, terrified! Anyone else been here and had a healthy pregnancy?

I had an early miscarriage at about 5 weeks, then a positive pregnancy test 3 weeks later! Resulting 11 month old is winding up his sister stealing her toys now xx

@Couggstar123 I ended up in and out of the EPU so much last time it’s given me PTSD! Me and my doctor agreed I’ll go to the EPU for a scan in 4 weeks so I should be like 7 weeks post conception so 10 weeks post miscarriage by then, in theory plenty to see. My anxiety is so bad but I’m just trying to be calm and think ‘normal’ pregnant people don’t get seen until 12 weeks so hang tight and think for the best. It’s just the boob thing worrying me as they don’t hurt x

I miscarried in the July ( many years ago) and fell pregnant in the following month with my first DC. All was well. Congratulations and try not to worry x

Thenatcheshire · 20/01/2024 20:21

@PinkDaffodil2 amazing good news story thank you. Can I ask about your boobs? Did they hurt for both the early loss pregnancy and the pregnancy that resulted in your baby x

Exactly same situation. Pregnant last month & lost it on 17th Dec, & seem to have conceived around 31st Dec! Also first time.
So nerve wracking!!! Just worrying about every little thing I'm doing. And driving me mad not telling people already!

My son was conceived 6 weeks after a miscarriage. He’s 18. Your midwife will keep a close eye on you - I was offered an early scan, for example. All of the very best to you.

Thenatcheshire · 20/01/2024 20:29

@anonhop omg seriously! Firstly I’m so sorry and secondly wow congratulations. Any difference in symptoms between the two pregnancies? When are you gonna get scanned etc? X

Congratulations @Thenatcheshire and I'm also so sorry for your loss.
It wasn't quite as quick but I miscarried at almost 9w last March and got pregnant two months later. I'm now 35w pregnant with that rainbow baby.
Pregnancy after loss is so tough, my only advice is to just focus on the next milestone which usually means scans. I wasn't able to properly think ahead with any optimism until after our 20w scan but my anxiety gradually eased from the 12w one onwards.
It's a different Pregnancy so I wouldn't worry if you experience different symptoms, I did too.

With my last pregnancy my boobs had me in agony the whole ( short ) time I was pregnant. So far this time nothing. Should that be something to worry about? Driving myself crazy that it’s a chemical or something so worried x

Hi @Thenatcheshire just with regards to the boob pain with my little boy I literally knew I was pregnant straight away as my boots were agony couldn't even zip up my jacket, with my little girl I didn't know I was actually pregnant until 12 weeks as no symptoms whatsoever ever so don't stress (if that's possible) about the lack of boob pain.

Thenatcheshire · 20/01/2024 21:40

@Newmum110 This is so reassuring, thank you x

Reassuring that you’ve had some negative tests inbetween.
just a short story… I miscarried and then a few months later went back as I had a positive result on a pregnancy test. I was sent away (nicely!) with some reassurance that it was just the pregnancy hormones from the miscarriage.
6/7 months later thought nothing much more of it until I felt a hard lump in the side of my stomach and thought I was dying of a massive tumour. Went to the doctors (different doctor this time) who confirmed I was very heavily pregnant and to get straight to the hospital for a scan.
I have PCOS and not really any periods, I didn’t gain much weight and was still wearing my normal clothes. If I ever felt rough I put it down to the lifestyle I was living. Didn’t notably feel any kicks etc.
bonkers.

I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks and after having pain six weeks later, I went for a scan to check and had an internal examination.

She looked up and said - do a pregnancy test!

DS is now 9 🥰

@Newmum110 This is so reassuring, thank you x

Best of luck with everything ❤️

Couggstar123 · 20/01/2024 22:33

@Thenatcheshire my symptoms were really different with my first MC and this pregnancy. Try and not let it worry you! Really good you have a plan worked out for scans etc…I know exactly how you feel with the anxiety. I wish I could offer words of advice but for me it’s just been taking each day as it comes. Pregnancy after loss is a total head fuck tbh but we have got this!

you too!! I have really no symptoms - last time I think I was symptom spotting & it was in my head. This time nothing, although have woken up a bit nauseous so who knows.
I am so nervous to go to the GP/get a scan in case they tell me it's no longer there 😥

lionseggs · 21/01/2024 09:24

Congratulations ❤️ I've never had sore boobs in any of my pregnancies. When I had my chemical I didn't progress from 1-2 weeks and I kept getting really faint tests. These are amazing strong lines xx
