40 weeks, exhausted and worried I won’t cope with what’s to come!

So this is probably just me being hormonal and anxious about the next stage but…

I’m 40 weeks today and I’m officially fed up of being pregnant, as I guess most people are at this point. But I also have a DD (2.5yrs) and I’m absolutely exhausted, by mid afternoon all I want to do is go to sleep. I’m just a bit stressed thinking that if I literally can’t keep my eyes open before having a newborn, how am I going to cope once baby arrives?! Argh!

Pregnancy tired is much worse than newborn tired and that's coming from someone that is currently averaging 3-4 hours of sleep a night !

Thanks, I do remember being ridiculously tired the first time around, but obviously had the luxury of not running around after a toddler! Think I’m just having a stress!

After both of my births I got a weird and inexplicable energy that meant I coped with hardly any sleep. And usually I'm someone who needs a minimum of 8 hours a night to function.
I figured it was some weird evolutionary gift.
Hopefully the same happens for you OP!

Once the baby is out, your sleep (when you get it) will be deep and profound in a way that it's not at 40 weeks! Late-pregnancy sleep is the absolute worst. They're parasites, sucking the life out of us 24/7. At least when the baby is born it'll sleep in a basket away from your body!
