Hospital bag

What do I need to pack in baby’s hospital bag? He is due mid March so I’m not sure what the weather will be like then! Do I just need a few short sleeve bodysuits & sleepsuits? Blanket/muslins and something to where when going home (short sleeve bodysuit and sleep suit)? Obviously I’ll take nappies etc.

My little one was born early March last year - we took some long sleeved body suits & baby gro’s.
Also took a cardigan, thin hat and blanket to put on when we left.
Loads of muslins. We took some larger ones to use for swaddling and smaller ones for general mess.
Nappies and wipes. If you want to use formula then maybe take some of the pre-made bottles, though our hospital gave them out anyway.

I'm due in 4 weeks and taking -

X2 first size baby grows and short sleeve vests
X2 upto 9lbs baby grows and short sleeve vests
X2 hats and mittens
X2 muslins
X4 bibs
Newborn dummies if needed
Newborn nappies and water wipes
Cotton pads
Planning on combi feeding so taking nipple cream, nipple leak pads and x2 boxes of sma starter pack milk

I seriously over packed in my other pregnancies so trying to not do that again this time.

Oh also cellular blanket too.

Just a mix really! Body suits, cardigan/jumper, sleep suits, bottoms, mitts and socks probably a pram suit and a hat in March still, blankets (a warmer blanket for car seat/pram and cellular blankets) muslin cloths, nappies and wipes, I’ve also put in some nappy cream and cotton wool things like that, Also pre made up formula just in case because they don’t supply it in hospital. I was quite surprised to learn that!

In mine/hubbys bag some nightdresses, a few change of clothes (hubby too), old underwear I can just throw away after (hormones or whatever have bleached all my black underwear 😅🙈) breast pads, nipple cream, cooling pads, nursing bras, maternity pads, slippers, dressing gown, wash stuff (hubby too) I’m going to take some extra pillows for
me and hubby and then things like phone some puzzles chargers things to keep us entertained. I’ve just finished packing mine I’m being induced next Wednesday 😬

I have a changing backpack, and two hold-all/wheelie bag things not mega huge ones. I’ve probably overpacked but 🤷🏻‍♀️ writing all this down I’m thinking I might have to cut some of it down I just want all bases covered 😅

Take a few different sizes of clothes. My son was measuring big so I mostly brought 0-3 month clothes to the hospital with just a few newborn just in case. He was a lot smaller than expected and most of the clothes I packed swamped him.

I always have a bag for baby and a bag for me.. in babies bag would be Nappies, nappy bags, wipes or cotton wool, hat, Muslins, vests, sleep suits, cardi, breathable blanket, milk if planning to use formula.

In mine I had a set of pjs, a comfy joggie/hoodie set, lots of big black pants, lots of maternity pads, disposable pants, supportive bra, slippers, mini toiletries, snacks and a drink, change for hospital parking or vending machines, paracetamol and phone charger. I packed a spare top and boxers, deodorant, toothbrush and paste for partner and kept it in car in case we ended up being a long time so he could get a freshen up. Try not to overpack, your partner can always bring in more stuff if you end up staying in longer. With my 3rd I was discharged within 6hrs so really didn’t need much. I remember watching YouTube videos of ‘what’s in my hospital bag’ and the ladies packed like they were going to be there for a week lol
