Pregnancy vitamins

I’m just using boots own brand essential pregnancy vitamins. I’m assuming they’re as good as the more expensive makes but am I being naive? I’m anxious about getting enough folate - even though I eat a varied diet, lots of foods I don’t eat have tonnes of folate (like cereal and white bread!)

Thanks 😀

They're all fine. I used the Pregnacare ones with DC1 because they were easy to buy in other countries as I was travelling a lot that year. I had a lot less money by the time DC2 came along and it was lockdown so zero travel, so I just used the Boots ones and they were fine too.

I must add I got hyperemesis gravidarum with both DCs and couldn't actually take the vitamins after week 6 but I'd been taking them in advance while TTC and for the first 6 weeks, then after week 20 when it settled down again, and both kids came out with no vitamin-deficiency-related issues. We're fairly sure DC1 has ADHD but since DH and I have it, that's nothing to do with pregnancy vitamins.

Oh thanks very much - I’m sure they are just as good, a bit like how panadol charge about 5 times the price for paracetamol.

If you're concerned, check the active ingredients. The only 2 the NHS recommend are folic acid 400mg/day (or foliate equivalent) and vitamin D

They all have the important stuff for baby I find the proceive ones give me more energy but could just be a coincidence.
I had to switch to gummies in around week 10 though due to puking up others
