34 weeks breech

Hey guys,

this is my second baby. My son was head down from about 28 weeks or so. This baby was head down at that time for a very short period I believe as I then noticed more pressure under my ribs when sitting etc and no movement around that area (I thought her feet were there but wondered why I got no kicks 😅😂) if baby continues to be breech at 36 I will be booked for c section provisionally . Is this common with second babies?? I’m quite devastated at the thought of it as I will have my 2 year old son at home who still needs me so very much, longer hospital stay, recovery etc.

any positive experiences.. baby’s back is also facing out and feet seem to be very far down in pelvis as I feel constant kicks in vagina bum area!

My 3rd baby was breech from 30 weeks and I stayed that way for what felt like forever, at 36 weeks I went to hospital so they could try to turn baby and she had turned by herself ! It can happen. I was so worried about potentially having a section... I did lots of positions that are supposed to help baby move, put a bag of ice at the top of my stomach and a hot water bottle at the bottom...even tried to use moxibustion sticks I brought on amazon 😅. Definitely don't stress yet, there's plenty of time x

My third was breech from 32 weeks until 36 weeks then at 38 weeks she’d gone back breech so had a scan to check position and she’d gone head down. Never felt her turn any time. Did lots of positions from the spinning babies website though

All four of mine were breech till 35 weeks.
They all turned spontaneously.

Don't panic yet!
In any case, you can have a vaginal breech delivery.

I could have almost written this!! Also currently 34 weeks with a breech baby, the only differences are that my older child is a 3.5 and also I am not feeling totally negative about the possibility of a planned section. I'd still prefer not to have one but I am feeling OK about it if it has to happen. I know recovery would be tough but trying to get my head around what it would entail in case it happens, while still hoping it won't. I'd personally opt for the section rather than attempting vaginal breech birth based on what I've read.
I totally understand though that c section recovery would be harder for you with a younger toddler.
I've been doing yoga poses that should apparently help him have space to turn - I've got a yoga teacher who is also a midwife so I paid for a private session with her recently and she gave me a daily routine. This was mostly for pelvic girdle pain but some things are specifically to try and facilitate the baby turning. I'm sure you could find some of the poses online I'm not sure I could describe them well!
Sorry we're in the same boat here's hoping both our babies turn soon

You know you can have a vaginal breech delivery, it’s not an automatic c-section for breech presentation. Obviously depends on personal circumstances and other bits, but just throwing it out there.

My first and second babies were transverse and then breech until turning (by themselves) late on. We got as far as discussing ECV with my second, but thankfully wasn't necessary. I'm now pregnant with my third and entering third trimester, baby tends to be transverse at the moment, so I'm fully expecting another late change of position...

I'll echo the others, don't panic! You've still got time for baby to change position.

DD was breech from 28 weeks. An attempted external cephalic version was unsuccessful at 34 weeks.

I was booked for a C Section - she was also predicted to be big and was my 5th pg to reach the 2nd trimester. I had one child. I took the consultant's advice.

I went for my pre-op assessment at 38 weeks. The baby was breech. My section was the following Monday. Admittedly over the weekend, I thought I was going into labour but then I fell asleep and all was well.

Reported for my section on Monday morning. Consultant popped to see me. The baby had turned.

She was blasted out with maternal semtex three weeks later. It was a very easy labour. She was 8lb 13oz.

Dd2 was transverse until 36 weeks and then one night she moved head down, I could bloody feel it too 😂 there is lots you can do to promote the room for them to turn. No slouching. Backwards when sitting as this tips the pelvis in a way that keeps then breech/trnasverse, sitting on a birthing ball with pelvis open/legs open basically and thighs like on all 4s with bum in the air. Babies often do turn all by themselves good luck

Can you go swimming? Mine turned around this gestation when I was swimming breaststroke. Very uncomfortable at the time, but worth it.

Before anything, @RosesAndHellebores thank you for the brand new sentence "She was blasted out with maternal semtex three weeks later."😂That's going to have me chuckling randomly for some time to come.

As with others, my second was breech at 36 weeks. I was scheduled for an ECV at 37+2, as I wanted to try everything before resigning myself to a C-section. Luckily, he turned all by himself a few days before. I had no idea he had until the consultant who was going to sign off me having the ECV (I also had pre-eclampsia) said he was head down, and scanned me to prove it. Thankfully he then stayed put, so I could be induced.
