Reduced movements

Does anyone know the answer to this question. I was told by my midwife that if you go in to maternity triage around twice, later on in your pregnancy for reduced/change in movements you may end up having to be in a labour ward for delivery when that time comes as they’ll want to monitor baby. Do you know if this is true / the case if everything has been fine after having movements checked and monitored though?

Hi
from my experience no. I’m currently 39+6 and have been to triage for a few different things including reduced movements and bleeding. I’ve also been under consultant care due to having high fluid and the growth slowing in the last few weeks. The midwife said to me that baby movements are their biggest indicator of there being something wrong, but when they do the monitoring if all is fine then it alleviates those worries. Even with all of the above I’m still able to give birth on the midwife led unit as non them make my pregnancy high risk. I would say if you are there very often with reduced movement it would be an issue.

No, I dong think you'd be automatically taken in or have to be on a labour ward. If you have reduced movement please get it checked out. It is a big indicator of risk to baby. You know your body and your baby.

I can't tell if this is a general question in case it happens or if you are currently experiencing reduced movements.

If you are having reduced movements, please please don't be worried by this and go and get checked asap.
