Anyone have a favourite video workout series they recommend? I usually love lifting and running but I'm so tired! I have a hip injury which means I need to stay fit, orthopaedist recommended I keep working out but my usual favourites are wearing me out and I'm only 5-6 weeks along!

It's normal to feel extremely fatigued for the first 3 months, than usually feeling great for the 2nd trimester and then tired again in the 3rd trimester but this time it's because you are carrying around a bowling ball and twice your normal blood volume so it's more from physical tiredness.

I would just do whatever you have the energy to do right now (which may not be much) such as swimming or walking. You can add in more light weights etc as your energy returns. Walking is great for hip injuries usually (may want to check with your dr).

Echo the above. I run and love a HIIT workout but in trimester 1 I’ve had to wind it way back in both pregnancies because my energy was so low. I went back to running for trimester 2 early trimester 3 and did my regular HIIT stuff with some adaptations (no lying on your back, no core focus work etc). Now I’m 33 weeks I’m basically just doing lighter weight gym workouts, walking and swimming.

listen to your body, chat to your midwife, and keep an eye on your heart rate because it’ll raise much faster the further along in pregnancy you get.

Just discovered Bumps and Burpees, which I think looks good - it includes a balance of bodyweight resistance training, yoga/pilates, and stretching. https://www.bumpsandburpees.com/

I was training prior to pregnancy then first trimester hit and I just needed to chill, couldn't find the energy while working and looking after a toddler just did plenty of walking. Now I've got more energy at 13/14 weeks I've started with weights again just shorter full body circuits rather than separating into leg day, upper body day etc. I then do focussed core and mobility sessions.
At your stage now I would just do plenty of walking and some pregnancy mobility/yoga stretches, I also have a hip injury and find just regular stretching helps. As your energy comes back you can do a bit more!! Congratulations ❤️

I loved this YouTube channel when I was pregnant

I particularly loved the yoga but she has such a range of different intensities and has exercised specific to all trimesters

I get so very tired in the first trimester, don't panic! Lots of good advice here.

I remember when I was pregnant with my first in the first trimester and we were trailing around a superstore in the country where we were living. I was so tired my husband got a trolley, put me in it and pushed me to the car! 😂
