27 weeks pregnancy movements

So I’ve tried hunting and I can’t find anything on this but I first started feeling movements around 21 weeks but they were just flutters. They have got stronger but I’m 27 weeks now and they’re really not as strong as I was expecting them to be at this stage. I have a few pregnant friends, some that are not as far as I am and they’re talking about strong kicks, being booted all over and being able to feel the baby turn and it’s making me worried that mine aren’t as strong. I don’t have reduced movements as such though which is what they tell you to look out for.

I would be less worried if I had an anterior placenta but mines posterior although she did say at my last scan it was fundal so coming around the front a bit but nothing that should block movement.

is it worth getting checked? I have a midwife appt on Monday so can mention it then. I might pay for a private scan also to put my mind at ease as I haven’t had one since 20 weeks

I think you should be comparing current movements to previous movements in the same pregnancy, not comparing to what others say they are experiencing?

Perhaps. I just wanted to know if it was a cause for concern. My wife had an anterior placenta and I’m sure she was experiencing regular and strong movement by this stage.

I know it’s not helpful to compare as everyone experiences pregnancy differently but I came to see if anyone was experiencing similar or could offer advice. I can’t find much online re not very strong movements at this stage still unless there’s an anterior placenta 🤷‍♀️

Like the PP said, it is about comparing YOUR movements.
You cant compare your movements to other peoples, because it is a different pregnancy.
I started feeling movement at 18 weeks, but some of my pregnant friends only started feeling anything at 24 weeks.

Some of my friends are woken up by their babies kicking in the night, but I have never been!

Each pregnancy is different, you only need to worry about your own movements. And even then, they will be different each day.

Just this past week, I had 2 days of not feeling my baby very much (still regular, but nothing ridiculous), and then the day after she absolutely kicked the shit out of me all day!

Could be the position of your baby, which way they are facing etc. I could feel movements but nothing crazy where it would wake me up at night. It was only really in the last 6 weeks of pregnancy when there was clearly no more room for baby to move that I started to really really notice movements, to the point that they’d make me jump or hurt etc.
As long as there isn’t a reduction in movements then that’s the important thing. Mention it at your appointment for extra peace of mind too.
Would also highly recommend getting a private scan. It’s so worth the money to know that things are ok, and you’ll see what position baby is in so could make sense of the movements you do feel.

My first booted the crappie out of me day and night. Second, gentle rolling. Thats all. All pregnancy and babies are different it's what's normal for you and your current pregnancy
