Pregnancy and work problems

Hi everyone looking for some work related advice if possible..
I’m nearly 15 weeks pregnant and work in a small family run nursery, let’s just say they arnt the most supportive or accommodating. I told them I was pregnant quite early (around 7/8 weeks) due to a chicken pox outbreak, but they still to this day havnt done a risk assessment on me?

I’m also really struggling with sickness, it’s ramped up quite a lot since 13 weeks and I’m really struggling in the day. We have just had a fair few staff leave so we are very low on the ground and I feel I am being relied on heavily even though I am pregnant.
I spend most of my days being sick in the little toilets for kids, last week it was so bad I asked to go home but unfortunately they were not very keen on the idea nor understanding. I’m on my feet all day (9 hour shifts) and still being made to do children’s nappies. One day last week I actually pulled my back out due to lifting and twisting a rather heavy child.
I also commute to work ( 30/35 mins) and spend most of my morning pulling over to be sick which makes me ever so slightly late.
I’m absolutely shattered and feeling drained as the days go on, my managers don’t even ask if I’m ok and seem to avoid me like the plague. I feel really unsupported & feel I’m making everything worse for myself as I just keep on trying to ‘push through’ which is now making my mood ever so low too.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Thanks for taking the time to read!

Have you put your request for a risk assessment in writing (email is fine) to your manager?
If not then do this ASAP and set a timescale (if you've already asked then I'd have thought within the next week would be a reasonable request).

I'd then join a trade union if you're not already a member of one and get their advice and support in terms of your legal rights to a risk assessment.

Once you have the risk assessment you can ask for reasonable adjustments to your work days such as more breaks.

It's also worth seeing your GP to see if medication could help with your vomiting.
Really hope you're feeling better and more supported soon!

I did ask for a risk assessment but as usual they just haven't bothered to do it. With them being a family run private business I fear they just get away with everything.
Im not in a union or anything.

thanks I’m currently on some anti sickness medication but it picks and chooses when it wants to work. I think iv been so sick this past week due to being very overtired & pushed at work. Also feel the stress isn’t helping me. :(

You may need to be signed off sick via your GP if you have hypermesis. I was bed bound for the first trimester & signed off for 6/7 weeks from part time job & had to cancel quite a few freelance jobs. Was rough but listen to your body as your health comes first. Sadly these jobs are just that & when it comes down to it you are replaceable. Put your health first

Yes I most definitely feel like 'just a number' to them these days, which is very sad. Nobody even checks in & asks how I am, nobody acknowledges my pregnancy, it's really shitty. A little support would go a long way.

I do agree though that for me this is my family, but to work I'm so replaceable. Thanks for l your suggestion x
