Hi ladies. I was want some advice and support really. I am currently 9 weeks pregnant and so happy with that.

In June 2022 I had surgery to remove a 7cm cyst from my right ovary. I was told is was an endometrioma. I got a call on Friday with results from the biopsy of the cyst. I didn’t even know they was doing a biopsy so this call was unexpected. I was told by my gynaecologist that all the doctors/pathologists were unsure what it actually was during the biopsy results. so had 4 different opinions/biopsy’s from different Pathologists in UCLH hospital. Anyway she said the final
conclusion/opinion is it is a rare tumor, non cancerous. Now I will have to have an MRI at 12 weeks pregnant & CT scan after pregnancy to check for malignant cells. And most likely removing my right ovary after birth. I have the 5 different reports on my NHS app from the doctors who done the biopsy’s and I have googled every single word and result. This is all scaring me so much I don’t know what to think. She did say over the phone non cancerous so why can I not stop worrying and why do they still have to do so many scans to check for malignant cells..
my partner is reassuring me not to stress because we are carrying our baby but it is quite hard not to!

I had exactly the same with my first pregnancy and again now with my 2nd but mine were huge. 40 cm large! They’re removing my ovary at a c section this time round but I’ve had no issues or pain and constantly tested for cancer and have the all clear. My cyst is a rare one and I am monitored every 2 weeks.

Thank you for responding. The news has scared me so much.. but if she said over the phone ‘ non cancerous ‘ why am I going crazy? 😞
Being able to see the 5 different reports on my NHS has thrown me off, all this long words and all! I suppose it being biopsies by so many different professionals is a good thing right? I was just started to feel happy and excited in my pregnancy as I’ve hit 9weeks and now I have this news.

It’s definitely daunting but you need to focus on the positives- it’s not cancer and it’s manageable. My friend had breast cancer during her pregnancy and I count all my lucky stars that it was ‘just a cyst’.
