Just this really. Currently with north tees and it’s rubbish. Midwives all at a hub that has no internet, phone lines never answered. Called day unit twice with spotting in 17th week and been fobbed off/told to had a vaginal swab into GP. Just don’t feel supported at all, all my friends who live in other places with concerns have always been seen at day centre for swabs/tests/scans same day or next. It’s not helping my anxiety feeling I can’t get any support :(

We moved into Stockton while I was pregnant with DS2 and I refused to move to North Tees due to the uselessness I'd heard about them,

James Cook dealt with both of my losses, my hemmorage after having DS1 and my care with DS2 and I couldn't not fault them at all, would fully recommend,

Thanks @QforCucumber. I had an early loss last year (6 weeks) which started with bleeding and James Cook refused to anything as policy was only to scan after 8 weeks. On one hand I understand this but my friends who live in north west (different parts) have both had bleeding in early pregnancy and were seen straight away for scan and reassurance. North Tees won’t see me now for spotting during 17 week and I’m fed up of been told over phone it’s nothing and to go to GP (who is also unable and generally says to contact midwife with pregnancy related issues!!)

I am considering going out of area - North Yorkshire or up to Gateshead or Newcastle if care is better. Having elective section so happy to go out of area for that.

should add my FiL just died in North Tees, in part at least because of delays diagnosing an infection which ultimately became sepsis, septic shock and then death.

James Cook is decent normally and their maternity care has a good rating from CQC, but if you'd go out of area the RVI in Newcastle is fantastic. One of the best hospitals around imo.

I've had two babies at York. Not sure if this is too far for you but care was amazing throughout pregnancy with extra scans and also during delivery and postnatal. They are part of the same trust as Scarborough if that's any closer to you too.

The RVI are exceptional all round. I also had a good birth at QE in Gateshead, but I would choose the RVI again in a heartbeat.

York is probably your next nearest it’s very good

I definitely wouldn't recommend scarborough hospital.

I had two at Scarborough and the care was excellent both times.

I gave birth twice at NSECH but ended up at the RVI as my son was sent to the NICU there. The facilities aren’t swish like NSECH (private rooms etc) but the care from all the staff was great both on the mat ward and the NICU.
