Is there a such thing as TOO MANY SCANS in pregnancy?

Still waiting on my first nhs scan. I'm already 12 weeks and just feeling fed up waiting. I had two early private scans (ivf pregnancy) I'm tempted to book a private scan to check everything is OK.
havent felt right since Christmas. Had spotting , cramping and ive had previous miscarriages. My anxiety is really bad.
I'm just wondering has anyone heard of too many scans being a bad thing? I know they are safe but could too many be unsafe for baby?

I am IVF and under consultant but my scan was carried out as normal by a sonographer. The consultant appointment is separate. That's my trust tho they may not all operate the same.

I guess the risk is that the scans can pick up false worries. We had a lot of growth scans due to a previous loss. We were told DS wasn't growing well at 29 weeks, then signs of low oxygen a few days later. I got steroids to get DSs lungs developed and prepped for him to be delivered at 30 weeks, only to find nothing wrong in the 3rd scan. So piles of stress and loads of further scans to check on things which we wouldn't have gone through if we hadn't had extra scans. It still makes me cold to think what damage could have been done to my son if we had had 3 false alarms instead of 2. He was born at 39 weeks above average size.

The odds are very much higher that a false alarm will be raised when you have a scan, than the odds are that not having a scan will mean an important problem isn't revealed soon enough.
