Bad Pelvic Girdle Pain in late pregnancy

Hi everyone, I’ve struggled with pelvic girdle pain for the last 3-4 weeks and am currently 37 weeks pregnant.
It’s very painful and really affecting my
mobility now. The midwife referred me to physio over two weeks ago but I haven’t heard back and maybe won’t before I have the baby now! I’ve tried to do exercises I found online and go on my birthing ball as much as possible but nothing helps.

Has anyone got any good coping tips? I’m also a little worried about birth with having limited mobility but the midwife says the pool should help alongside pain relief. I’d be grateful to hear any positive birth stories with bad PGP too. Thank you 😊

My midwife suggested a pregnancy ball and a Tens machine. I would maybe ask your midwife first if you intend on trying a Tens machine, but you can use it during labour too. Iv found a pregnancy ball & warm baths has helped me (currently 39 weeks). Hope it eases.

Regular showers or a long bath. It’s the warm water that helps. I also bought a pregnancy belt as mine started earlier - at around 12 weeks and this helps if I need to be on my feet. I find days whereby I do absolutely nothing (on the sofa) trigger it and days where I am too active (including days out that include more that 30 mins walking at a time) also trigger it. So taking a walk helps (after a shower when muscles are more relaxed).

very light stretches.

im 25 weeks and I have some days where I cannot even walk and some days where I am alright.

Depending on money situation you may find pregnancy massage every 4 weeks or so may help. I’m also waiting on a referral for physio for the same. Going to chase it up this next week in the hopes it does come soon 🤦🏾‍♀️ Hot water bottle on the areas helps me & listening to body not over doing it / doing too little.

I had this, plus the baby was back to back with me which didn't help. I was given a special belt to wear that helped hold the pelvis together. I found warm baths helped too. Other than that it's as much rest as possible, because the weight of the baby bearing down on the pelvis just exacerbates things.

Have you tried a support belt? It helped me.

Joining because I'm the same- 32w and the PGP really kicked in about 10 days ago after weeks of increasing but bearable discomfort.
I went to maternity assessment who were great and took it really seriously. They gave me codeine to take when it's very bad- did you get any pain relief? If not maybe it's something you can push for, I am finding it helps but trying to only take it sparingly as obviously it's strong stuff.
They also referred me to physio which has transpired into a group physio session for pgp sufferers on 12 Jan, not sure if this is common for all trusts.
I've also booked a private session today with a local yoga instructor who is also a midwife and specialises in antenatal yoga. Hoping she will be able to set me up with useful stretches.

Beyond that right now the only things that help are warm baths and lying on my side with a firm cushion between my knees. I'm really struggling with parenting my 3.5 yo, being down on the floor with her has me in agony quickly but it's impossible to avoid completely. I hate having to constantly tell her no because I'm in pain :(
