I'm freaking out because I ate a chicken breast it was very slightly pink, but I did it for the 35 mins specified but clearly that wasn't enough and the bacon was brown. It was brown before I cooked it. I didn't think anything of this because it has tomrorows date. It was chicken wrapped in bacon cheese pastry thing
I'm in my first trimester and now I'm reading the bacon was already rotten if it was brown and should have been tossed. I'm freaking myself out because I've read if I get sick it can cause a miscarriage. I've went through hell to get pregnant and I feel so fucking stupid for eating it
I thought brown bacon just meant its oxidised and as it was in date in clingfilm would be fine but Google says it means bacteria has invaded

You would have been able to smell the bacon if it was on the turn, it really smells bad.
It was likely fine. There’s a world of difference between being raw and very slightly pink, as long as it was piping hot it will be fine, try not to worry.

As long as all parts of the chicken have reached a minimum internal temperature of 165°, it is safe to eat. Color does not indicate done-ness. Hemoglobin in the muscles can likewise react with air during cooking to give the meat a pinkish color

Bacon makes cooked chicken pink, something to do with nitrites.

@noblegiraffe hi we've ate these many times. They are never pink inside. I think I simply didn't cook them enough this time because I don't even know what I'm doing most of the time anymore. My heads so confused from the exhaustion , the sickness and everything

On the off chance that you do become unwell, I had food poisoning earlier in my pregnancy and a midwife advised me that baby is very well protected and you’d have to be unwell to the point of hospitalisation for it to potentially do any harm, so try not to worry but if you do get ill you could always phone the EPU to put your mind at rest.

Hi
I wouldn’t worry. I ate undercooked chicken around 3 weeks ago..I’m currently 37 weeks and threw it up in a couple of hours. Your body will react if it needs it out
