In September & October the antenatal appointment urine sample shown a uti however it wasn’t until mid November I had a call to tell me this! I chose to have a course of antibiotics which was 7 days & had side effects from the antibiotics but symptoms went. I had a dip test done with GP & she said there was raised white cells but if symptoms had gone then to not worry as this can be raised in pregnancy due to all changes. Anyway I went walk in this morning as I had symptoms again (I’m 30 weeks) & he’s given me another round of antibiotics & told me to have GP send sample to labs as I have uti again. It’s not been long since last one! I’ve been walking around with SPD / PGP pains but now I’m wondering if it’s uti related?

Has anyone else had similair experience?

hoping this clears it up. I’ve ordered Pro Ven womens probiotics as this has helped me lots with UTI’s when not pregnant - plan to take one every other day instead of daily.

I had a UTI in very early pregnancy, it started before my missed period and when it didn't clear after a couple of days, I was given antibiotics.

I get frequent UTIs and now I'm pregnant I can't take my usual prevention meds (hiprex and d mannose).

One thing I would recommend is to buy some home UTI test strips. I used these before I saw the doctor with my last UTI and they accepted that when prescribing the antibiotics. Having the tests also means you can test yourself on the same day you have your routine tests and then you can take action if needed rather than relying on being told, especially if you're having to wait weeks for your results.
