I have read several threads on here where mums co-sleep with their babies. I didn't think this was recommended due to rolling over in your sleep etc and SIDs etc - are you talking about something else or have I missed something? Don't want to start a debate on what people find right and wrong (we all do what is right for our own children).

theres so much evidence to support both for and against. i co-slept with DS until he decided he needed his own space at about 5months and wanted to go into a cot. i totally agree with motherhurdicure and think you instinctively sleep in a safe position. re duvets - i always kept my arm over it so it couldnt ride up and over him. i also was worried about sids/rolling over so we got a snuggle nest www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/0984339/Trail/searchtext%3ESNUGGLE.htm which gave us peace of mind

you can get a bedside cot which is a kind of halfway house between co-sleeping and not.

I co-slept in hospital with ds2 and only used the plastic box thing for nappy changes. A kind MNer has leant us [http://armsreach.com/original_cosleeper.php one of these] which is really good.
