Breech 32 weeks

Hi everyone

I'm 32+2 and yesterday at a growth scan (scheduled monthly growth scans due to losing a child in a previous pregnancy to a condition this baby doesn't have) the sonographer pointed out that my baby is breech.
My baby has always been breach or traverse in each scan and when my midwife has checked their position. The sonographer seemed very relaxed about the baby's position and suggested I could take a look at spinning babies and maybe go swimming to get her moving. Then the midwife (not my usual midwife, the midwife who reviewed the scan after my apt) has scared the living daylight out of me and told me how if baby is still footling breech by 37 weeks they would need to admit me immediately as there would be a risk of cord prolapse which I understand is extremely serious.

I have read posts about getting breech babies to change position, and I will try everything I can to get her to shift. What is the likelihood of this when my baby has only been seen / felt in non cephalic positions to date? Do I have as much chance as any to get her to move or am I kidding myself thinking I can?

I have one living child born 5 years ago who wasn't breech.

Thanks in advance.

I have no real advice as it’s not a situation I’ve been in but I have a few friends who had acupuncture to turn breech babies successfully.

I was told repeatedly that my daughter was breech at every appointment right up until the week before I had her. By the time Inwas in labour she was head down (albeit looking sideways). I never felt her turn despite them telling me I would.

My baby was breech up until 38 weeks. I was having a planned c section so they said it would be okay and they would just keep checking her position. They also suggested swimming and doing other things to try move the baby.

Try not to worry, contact your own midwife and discuss it with her. I think the other midwife was just giving worst case scenario sort of thing.

Hi
I’ve been having growth scans every 4 weeks. At my 32 week scan my baby was breech, I have some excess fluid so this doesn’t help. However told at my 36 week scan he has turned and head is way down. There is definitely still time!

Mine was also breech at 32 weeks. I did moxibustion and spinning babies stuff, she turned by 37weeks but I didn’t feel it.

Following as I'm 32 weeks + 6 and mine is also breech! I can't remember for the life of me what my other three were at this point in pregnancy! Mine is well and truly feet down (kicking my bladder) and head in the ribs.

But just to add the midwives I spoke to at my growth scan said it's really normal to still be breech. They won't even considering worrying about it until 36 weeks.

There's plenty of time and plenty you can do. Pregnancy yoga, swimming, spinning babies, sitting upright and forward as much as you can/ avoiding being slumped on a sofa. My last baby turned at 33 weeks just as I had bought a gym ball to try to bounce him round with!
