Anterior placenta, 2nd/subsequent pregnancy

Could I please get experiences of anterior placentas when you've had other pregnancies that weren't?

With my first, I detected movement from 16wks and could feel (and see) LOADS of wriggling later on.

This is highly likely to be my last pregnancy so just wondering what to expect?
And, if I'm honest, a teeny-tiny bit disappointed that I might not feel as much as last time, although I'm sure it'll still be lovely.

It wasn't a subsequent pregnancy but I felt definite movements from around 21 weeks with my anterior placenta. It may be earlier if you have had a pregnancy before though as you'll understand better what you're feeling for?

By way of reassurance, from about 24/25 weeks the movements were constant and completely impossible to ignore which was lovely! So please try not to worry you won't get that stuff as you will; just a little later.

My first was anterior, second posterior. I felt movement sooner with the posterior but that's also more common for the second. But with my anterior when I started feeling movements it didn't stop, just not right at the front but definitely at the sides.

Anterior placenta in both pregnancies. Felt movements with my first around 15 weeks, and 12 weeks with my second! Lots of strong wriggling and turning throughout pregnancy. Both were always on the move and you could easily see it from the outside let alone me feeling like I was being punched from the inside 😂 I don't know what another placenta position would feel like, but I wouldn't have wanted to find out haha. I had no problem feeling every movement especially towards the end.

My 2nd was an anterior placenta after a posterior one first time around. I felt movement super early! I think the fact it’s not a first pregnancy means I felt movement earlier on. It was maybe less consistent earlier on.

Later on I could still see parts of baby moving, a big lump that was a bum and feet moving across my belly. I still felt the baby having a disco at 9pm and 4am 😂 My DH could feel/see baby movement too.

It maybe depends how high up the placenta is, mine was never classed as low lying but I had seen from some growth scans in the third trimester that it was below my belly button, most of the big visible movements and kicks were above that level anyway.

I had an anterior placenta with my first and posterior this time with my second. I didn’t feel movements until later with my first, probably around 22 weeks but once they started they were constant, no difficulty seeing or feeling them!

I had an anterior placenta and movements from 19 weeks, with my other DC I felt movements from 17 weeks but apart from that no difference in how movements then progressed

This is my 5th pregnancy and 1st anterior placenta, I've felt movement since 15 weeks so no change really, the only change is that it takes a bit longer for the midwife to find the heartbeat with the doppler.

Anterior with first and was in with so many reduce movement episodes was a stressful pregnancy. Ended up being induced at 37 & 6 in the end. Thankfully had a brilliant experience etc. Currently have anterior with second pregnancy and movement has been so much more intense & full on! Cant believe the difference perhaps I’m more in tune this time who knows but happy to not be constantly anxious as this is last pregnancy.

I had a posterior placenta with my first, and anterior with my second.

I started feeling movement around 17 weeks with my first, and very early (~13 weeks) with my second. It was extremely low down, and matched with the position he was at the scan anyway!

By the time of the anatomy scan, I knew I was had an anterior placenta, as all movement I could feel was low down. However, as baby got bigger he found plenty of places to kick me that weren't cushioned by the placenta. I had maybe one or two concerns about movement, but as with my first a cold caffeinated beverage soon got them up and wriggling.

As a PP says, it did make finding their heartbeat on the Doppler much harder. My second was a master of hiding it behind his cord and placenta. Even veteran midwives struggled at 36 weeks!
