30 weeks pregnant & need advice please

am in desperate need for some advice please. My 17 y/o daughter is 30 weeks pregnant, since Friday 08/12 very little movement from him I am going to say no more than five since then. She has been on a ctg alot and two growth scans and from medical terms baby is fine other than no movements.
My daughter is being admitted to have more ctg traces but is absolutely terrified something bad is going wrong with her baby that they are not picking up on. I feel absolutely useless 😕
Please any advice welcome

Have they said where her placenta is lying? If it's anterior it may be cushioning baby's movements.

I'm also 30 weeks with a very lazy baby. I know his pattern of movements now, but always always always ask to be seen if you're at all concerned. If she's being admitted then she's in the right place to have anything picked up by the doctors and midwives. Best of luck to you both

Thank you her placenta is high posterior.. movement was fine till last Friday its very concerning 😟

She's done the right thing going in op she's in the best place. You must tell her that at any point she isn't happy she must go back in

GreatGateauxsby · 14/12/2023 16:37

The advice is to go in if concerned and if the movement continues to be reduced she should keep going in.
silly question perhaps: but Is she definitely paying attention… I sometimes think “oh god what was the last movement” and then invariably I glug chilled water and feel something…

In terms of medical action…
I’d be inclined to keep going in if she has long episodes of no movement even when baby is prompted.

I’d also ask for another growth scan to check baby is growing and that they also check the blood flow through the placenta.

id consider booking a few “reassurance scans” privately too. These aren’t that expensive.

She had a growth scan today .. she had a private reasurrace scan on Monday.. but still very concerned with no movement .. it doesn't matter what she does she can't get him moving 😞 we know it's far too early to bring him into the world but will be devastated if the worst happens and he's still born 😞

this is going to sound awful but is she on the bigger side. sometimes the fat can absorb the feeling.

If it makes you feel better i barely felt my daughter move. Between my fat and my placenta placement everything got absorbed. I was in the unit pretty much every week cos i'd go over a day without feeling her move. could see her on scans kicking away but just barely felt it. they moved me to twice weekly monitoring as it was becoming such a problem. My waters broke randomly and she was born naturally at 34 weeks, we have no idea why. she was healthy as a horse though - still is.

and i hate to say it Op, but she’s probably feeding off your worry and anxiety

You need to be her calm point

Mummapenguin20 · 14/12/2023 17:35

You need to be calm op

GreatGateauxsby · 14/12/2023 17:39

Agree you need to be calm.

Some babies move more, some move less.
if you did a reassurance scan did they check the blood flow and placenta?
Presumably that all looked fine (ie placenta is in place… and blood is flow well)?
