Hi everyone! We've got our 20 week ultrasound on 19th December 23, so exciting! I've had so much anxiety leading up to this, worried about babys movements etc, it's been so difficult. I know we can purchase pictures but does anyone know of any way I can record a part of my ultrasound so I can watch my baby move when I'm at home? It'll ease some of the anxiety I've been feeling and help me throughout the remainder of the pregnancy.

All I keep seeing is the NHS won't let you :( but I keep seeing instagram and tiktok videos of ultrasound recordings and I don't know how!

Perhaps the videos are from private scans?

Haha that’s weird mine is the same day! The Instagram/Tik tok videos could be the US or private scans maybe? I’m not sure if they let you or not with an NHS scan but always worth asking.

Is it your first? I didn’t feel movements until 24/25 weeks with my first and haven’t felt anything yet even though you can feel earlier second time round.

Same as pp I didn’t feel any movement with my first until probably around 22 weeks. This time I’ve started to feel them sooner but very sporadically so far. If you’re already feeling movement, these will soon start to become more and more, and if you haven’t felt them yet, you soon will and that should give you plenty of reassurance. I’d try not to let this worry you, you have to just assume everything is ok unless you have reason not to. The fact you have got to this point means your risk of anything happening is significantly reduced.

Absolutely not allowed at NHS scans. All videos I have are from private scans. I did a lot of research for a private reputable place that had an NHS consultant as one of the team. They sent lots of videos after the appointment.

I had an early NHS scan and asked if I could take a video as my partner couldn't be there. The midwife said it's officially not allowed but she always lets people and asked me not to post it on facebook (I was 6.5 weeks so not a chance!) so it may just depend who you get on the day.

I also had a private scan and got a 5 minute video and loads of pics, so as PP said maybe you've seen videos from private scans.

Thanks so much everyone! It's my forst baby, yeah but I've been feeling them move since maybe 14 weeks! Like flutters, swimming kinda movements, really obvious. So it's really scary when I go days without feeling them ❤️❤️ ill have a look into private, if you have any recommendations I'm all ears!

Thank you all so much 😘❤️

Recommendations will depend on local area unless you go to the bigger 'window to womb' or 'ultrasound direct' franchises.

Window to the womb are very good for scans but I’m sure when I went, it was in the T&Cs that you could not film during the ultrasound.
